I was told by someone in Administration that “unruly” people were not accepted at St. Anthony’s when searching for a residence for my Mom. They were building a dementia ward and I’m thinking, “Residents with dementia never get unruly, right, or do you just medicate them”? My Mom is a pepper so even though it appeared to be a nice place, I was appalled they told me that. Sounds like a very discriminatory and scary place. The second issue I had was that I was also told by the Administrator that there is no security and the residents can walk out onto Airline Highway if they want to. Really? Also, If Mom doesn’t want to be there at St. Anthony’s and demands to go home, after all the work I’ve done to get her in there, they will call for her to be discharged, even though I physically cannot take care of her and she has nowhere to go. Inquire in depth before placing your loved ones at St. Anthony’s. You may not get past the phone call.

My grandma has been there a month and the all the care team who work there have been so caring. It makes me feel at ease knowing she is looked after. After looking for somewhere to place grandma we went tour few. 1st thing me and mom noticed didn't smell or urine or smell bad. Which was a plus for us. & the staff was so helpful and caring during this hard time. Because it's never easy have to put your love one somewhere. But we feel so at ease with st Anthony knowing they care. I go mostly everyday to see my grandma and she says she likes it there which also makes me feel better. I would recommend them to anyone.

My dad went to this awful facility following a hospital stay and now he is deceased!! They have the most incompetent staff ever! My oxygen dependent dad was taken to the shower without oxygen and told the tech he couldn’t breath and she laughed. He told her he would call me and tell me what happened and she went directly to her boss. I know this because I called and the tech already came and apologized and was afraid she would lose her job. The director of nursing, I believe her name is Rachel even admitted to me that the CNA/ bath tech that took my dad to the shower without O2 and didn’t have a good understanding of his condition. Why are they hiring staff that either doesn’t understand or doesn’t care to understand patients diagnoses??!!! Well my dad never made it back from the hospital following that shower. It makes me so angry and sad that these facilities treat HUMAN BEINGS this way. People come there for medical care. Not to be treated horribly. I was called multiple times to get my dad admitted but never received a call or card when he never returned there from the hospital. As a matter of fact his belongings were at the front door when I arrived unannounced to get his stuff. Healthcare workers have to start caring and understanding that they determine if a person lives or dies. My dad is gone and it hurts so bad. PLEASE DON’T SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!!!!!

My stay here was brief, but I can tell you that the care I received was phenomenal! The nursing staff took care of me just like I was a member of their family! They not only gave me a new lease on life, but they also lifted me up from a very low point emotionally! They helped me to regain a will to live and I will be eternally grateful for the love and kindness I was shown!

If you're asking the question, the answer is "YES!" My brother and I looked at several places before deciding to move our mom to St. Anthony's. The main reason is that every member who lives there is known by name and is treated like family. We watched as each member of Staff, Executive and Administrator smiled, held hands and greeted the patients by name and took time to visit with them and make them feel important. We walked away certain that we were making the right choice. And we have not regretted that decision. Hearing from Staff how much they love our mom has made this transition so easy. I am forever grateful
