If you are considering this facility for a loved one think twice. While it appears clean, they claim to be 5 star rated and award winning, with in-house doctors and nurses and a chef to facilitate dietary needs. Please know it’s all smoke and mirrors. I pulled my mother out after 5 days to save her life as she was in worse shape in 5 days than she was when she was admitted, 5 major issues: 1. The absence of managed care. 2. Left to lay in feces and urine filled diapers for hours, to the point of blistered skin. 3. Unable to meet dietary needs after 3 meeting with leadership to discuss her inability to eat bread then being given sandwiches for dinner 4 nights in a row. 4. Filthy torn oversized comforter draped over her bed with more than 6 inches puddles on the filthy floor stepped on by anyone that came into her room and thrown on the floor when they changed sheets and placed back on top of her. 5 .They claim to have tracking in place to measure food and water intake. However, they have no plan in place to communicate with family or doctors as she became emaciated and dehydrated from not eating. They were completely unaware that she was dehydrated and starving. She lost 10 lbs in 5 days starting out at an already dangerous weight of 89 lbs. from chemo treatment and sepsis. I met with the nurse Manager Teresa twice to address why they continue to feed her sandwiches when they were told at check in she can’t eat bread. With no explanation whatsoever she promised to put notes in her file and communicate with the kitchen. She stated that mom was eating 50-75% of her food. That was an absolutely lie as I had complained the day before about her eating a tablespoon of the meal. A staffer jumped into the conversation who corrected the nurse and confirmed she was eating 25% or less, sometimes nothing bc it was a sandwich. I gave Teresa a verbal list of foods she could eat and was assured she would let the kitchen know. The next day I came in at dinner time and shocked to see them bring in a sandwich. More shocking was that the bread was unbelievable stale and hard as a brick. Clearly it had set out for hours before delivery or made the day before. I handed it to the CNA and asked her if she would feed this brick to her family and she said “HELL NO” Questioned why they were only serving her disgusting cold stale bread Sandwiches Staff conveyed they were short staffed, had money problems and lied about offering special dietary needs meals. So why this review: my mother was placed temporarily in this facility, having been released from the hospital, to finish an antibiotic drip to treat E-Coli sepsis. She was placed in a special room to ensure extra sanitary conditions due to her infection. That meant nothing in-reality. There is no commitment to care or ability to meet the cleanliness required to mitigate sepsis. There was an overt lack of awareness of her starvation and dehydration. I pulled her out after 5 days and took her to the hospital by ambulance where they admitted her for dehydration and continued to treat her infection. Love your family enough to find another facility for their care. Many of the staff advised us of poor quality service, many were looking for jobs elsewhere and all complained that management did not care about patients and that the facility had staffing and money challenges!
