I would like to start by saying thank you to all the great staff at Silvercrest for the excellent care they give to my mom every day. As many would know that looking for a nursing home can be very difficult. I had looked at many facilities for my mom and Silvercrest was out of all in this area was the best. The staff cares they go beyond to make sure she is happy. The facility is always clean, the activity director always has a special project for them to work on. they sing, enjoy movies, have parties, celebrate all the holidays and any other special events, the residents are always invited. Truly I just can’t say enough. The front office staff is amazing and always willing to help. Miss Karen the administrator is a great lady, she truly cares for each and everyone of the residents. I just can’t say enough. My mom was paired with a great roommate, someone that she can communicate with and enjoy everyday with. So if you are looking for a great home for your loved one, one that cares, go to Silvercrest. Thank you again for everything you do for my mom, for making her happy ❤️❤️

The occupational and physical therapy team at this facility are top notch. I chose to come to this facility after a months stay in ICU. I was unable to walk or stand at all. The therapy staff worked with me at my pace but also challenged me. The food was excellent. Lots of variety and options for alternatives if you did not like the main entree. This is an older facility so if you're expecting something fancy, you'll be disappointed. I had a few negative experiences but overall would recommend this facility for their incredible rehabilitation program. One bad experience was when the administrator confronted me about leaving the facility and going to a doctor's appointment who was a specialist at the hospital I had just been discharged from. My husband took me to this appointment in our personal car. The specialist was an hour away in Pensacola. We returned to Silvercrest 10 about 4 hours later. The next day, the administrator confronted me and insinuated we had just "gone off for a joy ride for hours" and if I was really sick how could I do that and that she wasn't going to allow her facility to be liable for my "Medicare fraud." This was really rude to me because I am only 33 and being in a nursing home was the last thing I would have ever wanted to do. I informed her that we indeed went straight to that appointment and back to the facility afterwards. No "joy riding." Fortunately, I was able to prove this because I had requested my blood glucose logs from the nurses before I left for the appointment and also gave the assistant DON my paperwork the specialist had given me explaining the insulin and cortisol medication dosing instructions. She also accused my husband of sleeping in our car in the parking lot. Another thing was that same administrator and the assistant DON mentioned to me about how the kitchen needed to talk with me about my "15 lb weight gain" when in reality, the staff weighed me with an oxygen tank on and I was in a wheelchair and they forgot to calculate those when they compared to the prior weight, which was not taken with the wheelchair or oxygen tank on. The administrator lady, in my opinion should have no access to my personal health information because they are not medical staff. I did not have a "weight gain" and this inaccuracy was concerning because I was on bumex at the time for fluid retention and pleural effesion and doses of diuretics are assessed by weight and other factors. They were going to restrict food based on that inaccuracy. Which again, was concerning because I was diabetic at the time and struggling with hypoglycemic episodes. I also had another situation where I was told the facility had ordered/refilled my life sustaining cortisol medication and they did not. So I ran out of it and I ended up having to refill it myself from the pharmacy I was using prior to my admission. And on the topic of meds, the facility doctor isn't big on pain management. My first week there I asked for aspirin for pain and he refused. Later after a week of the nursing staff documenting my agony he finally agreed to prescribe aspirin. Then I ended up having to go to an actual pain clinic. He's a good doctor and I can honestly say he got me what I needed and I had very good care with him and the two NPs, but if your loved one has chronic pain or a debilitating disease, I would encourage you to have a discussion with the facility medical staff prior to admission just to ensure they will provide the means to give the patient the best quality of life possible, even if that involves controlled medications. But overall, I would say this facility is a good option. The rehabilitation program is truly exceptional. The nurses and CNAs were very kind and proficient for the most part. Also, the activity director was very sweet and had great activities for the elderly. Silvercrest is not a fancy place by any means and they definitely have a lot of repairs that need to be done, however, I had a very positive experience and would recommend!

With very few exceptions, I give Silvercrest 5 star +++! Facility is clean and welcoming. If you need therapy, they have the Best Physical and Occupational therapists. The Director and assistant director are very helpful and available to discuss any problems. Most of the Nurses are caring and punctual if you’re in pain and need medication. With the exception of a few CNA’s and aides, couldn’t ask for better treatment. Kitchen manager very accommodating and food in general good. Only problem I had was just after being discharged. I was so motivated and ready for home. Only needed to insure my prescriptions and mobility wheelchair were available at home. That was and is a problem. After 3 days and no replies I was told to contact my primary and insurance company so again in pain. Always call your primary physician, home health care and Insurance company and not rely on facility for that.
