There are so many reasons I'm satisfied with the care my mom is receiving at Sheridan medical lodge. From the very beginning, Wendy was incredibly informative and kind, which made the transition so much easier for our family. Lupe in the business office has made everything, simple and stress free, my mom's nurses have been absolutely amazing! Everyone from the director Crystal to the housekeeping dept seem genuinely happy, and the positivity shows in the way they care for the residents. They are so patient with my mom even on the days she doesn't want a shower, and they always keep me informed if there are any changes. The therapy department is phenomenal! We've had difficult experiences with therapy at other location in the area, but at Sheridan, my mom has truly flourished. Therapy keeps her moving, engaged, and motivated, and we've seen such a positive difference. Mary at the front desk is the sweetest, she always answers the phone in the kindest way and greets you with a warm smile. Those small touches mean more than people realize. It truly means so much to know they take the time to thoroughly pair your loved one with the right roommate, that alone makes a world of difference. I truly can't express the amount of stress Sheridan has lifted off our Family. We are beyond grateful for the care, compassion, and dedication shown to my mom and to all of us.

"My dad was moved from the nursing home without any consent from me. Even though I have POA, they only called me the day they were moving him. They have no compassion for people, which is not what their mission statement says. Please, do not put your loved ones in this nursing facility." Dealing with Richard was stressful.!!! When you trust a facility to care for a loved one, a lack of communication or organization from the top can feel like a betrayal of that trust.

The facility has an exceptional PT program. Many personnel, from janitorial services to the on-site doctor, are professional and perform their job with excellence. However, avoid this facility if you need timely pain control. Overall, you will not receive your medicine in a timely manner in which you asked; it will take up to 2 1/2 hours to receive authorized medicines.

I truly enjoyed my stay at Sheridan. I needed rehab after being in the hospital, and I chose to come here. The people are so kind and they are very encouraging with therapy. I love how many activities they have, the activity lady is very nice and always provided me something to color. I enjoyed Bingo and the live music, especially the gospel music. The food was very good and they were so kind to accommodate my preferences. I am so blessed to have been able to have rehab here and plan to live here someday very soon.

When my dad arrived no one bothered to contact me to let me know he had been transferred there or to discuss a plan. I had to initiate contact and when I finally was able to reach someone it was not good news. When I arrived at the facility (I live 2 hours away) his room was a mess. There was something sticky on the floor by the head of his bed and his stuff was thrown everywhere. No one took five minutes to put his stuff away. The next day I tried contacting a nurse twice and no one bothered to return my call. Wednesday they called to tell me they are sending him to the ER. They let him sit all day unresponsive before sending him out. The entire time he was in the ER and eventually moved to the third floor not one person from that facility bothered to contact me to check on him. After deciding on hospice care, I went to clean out his room at Sheridan. I was able to walk in, clean out his room and walk out with all his belongings and not one person stopped me to find out who I was or what I was doing and why. I could been a random stranger or could have walked into anyone's room cleaned it out and left. As I was leaving I did stop at the front desk to let them know he was being moved to a hospice facility and staff wouldn't take a few minutes to speak to me. The nice lady at the front called someone to come talk to me and she said she didn't need to, they had been informed he was leaving. Your loved one there is just a body occupying a bed.
