my wife's mother moved from another facility because of care concerns. the difference is night and day. she actually smiles now and has made friends. the nursing staff is attentive without being intrusive.

My mother had a very favorable experience at Serene Gardens of Clarkston. Coming from a hospital stay and time spent at two rehab facilities, this was by far the best environment for my mother. The facility is spacious and not crowded and very clean. Upon arrival, the staff were smiling and friendly, and all came by my mother’s room to introduce themselves, from the executive director to the staff who did cleaning, laundry and support for showering, etc. My mother thougt the food was better than any of the other places she had been. While she couldn’t participate in much, every time I visited I walked past residents in the large common area participating in staff directed activities. As my mother’s health deteriorated, I was comforted by the caring, compassion and respect given to my mother.

I've worked in healthcare for 20 years and can spot quality care immediately. Serene Gardens has it. The staff turnover is low, which speaks volumes about management. My aunt receives excellent care and genuinely looks forward to meal times.

The assisted living setup here works perfectly for my mom's needs. She gets help with medications and daily tasks, but maintains independence in her apartment. The dining room staff knows everyone by name and always has a kind word.
