Safewatch does not deserve even one star. I worked for this company for about a year, and based on my experience, I cannot recommend it to families looking for care for their loved ones.
During my employment, I had several interactions with Cameron that I found unprofessional and intimidating. I also experienced what I felt was favoritism among employees and clients. In my experience, if Cameron did not get along with an employee, his behavior could create an uncomfortable and unsupportive work environment. To make matters worse, Cameron explicitly told me that my doctor's notes did not count as excused absences, showing a complete lack of support and professionalism regarding employee health.
Another major issue involved management's rigid and unfair handling of day-to-day employment situations. At one point, Cameron tried to terminate me simply because the Sandata app was malfunctioning and wouldn't allow me to clock in. Later, when a client who didn't have a vehicle needed food, I completed all of my assigned duties, clocked out for the day, and chose to take them to get food on my own time. Following that incident, I was officially terminated. From my understanding, transporting clients had been allowed in the past, but the policy changed after Cameron took over management.
The company also refused to reimburse caregivers for expenses incurred while assisting clients with errands such as grocery shopping and trips to the laundromat.
I genuinely love being a caregiver and helping people who cannot care for themselves. Because of that, I take the quality of care provided to clients very seriously. Based on my experience, I would encourage families to carefully consider their options before choosing Safewatch for their loved ones’ care.
