For now, Im giving a single star. As a retired nurse, I know that staffing is spread kinda thin across the board in the industry. Just got mom in law in Round Lake last month. For 6k a month for very limited assist...youd think they would be checked on at least 10 min a day. Mom dosnt see staff for 2 days at a time. We will prob end up moving her out. For 6k a month...we could move her into a luxury condo...and she'd be better off. I mean...it is a care facility right?

Any family considering this facility needs to be confident that this place really is able to meet its care commitment to their loved one. This place can break your heart. This place contracted with my sister to provide assistance with ALL her daily cares, such as toileting and personal daily grooming and showers. She is wheelchair-bound and relies totally on the staff to deliver according to the terms of her care contract. She routinely doesn’t get the twice weekly showers she is paying for. On holiday weekends, such as the recent 4th of July, staff informed her there were too many staff “no-shows” and they weren’t going to be toileting her at all that day. WHAT?? How do they get by with this? If they can’t guarantee to meet her needs EVERY SINGLE DAY, why did they ever take her as a resident? This is neglect and potentially abuse of a vulnerable adult. Many of her peers have the same experiences. I feel they take people in they have no ability to reliably meet the needs of. They seem unwilling to hire enough care staff to meet their care contracts regardless of no-shows. That is their responsibility. The residents<br>pay the price for their lack of accountability for adequate staffing at all times, not just sometimes. It’s my understanding this place is under new management as of June 2026…they have a chance to show they can do better.

Just OK, half of the staff is awesome the other half is just there for the paycheck. The food is not good, I overheard the staff talking in disbelief about how bad it is. This place is best if you just need minimal assistance.

Stay away! A scam! Too expensive and they take advantage of elderly and they don’t communicate with family. After my dad passed away they tried to triple my mom’s rent with NO extra services and no warning. It was very stressful and worrisome for her while she was still grieving the loss of her husband of 56 years. We put our foot down and said we are moving out. So sad because it is a nice facility but they obviously don’t know how to communicate and truly care for our loved ones. Don’t even bother with a tour!
