My grandfather spent his final days at Riverview Pointe when he was there to recover and return home. He fell, and I don't know how long he laid on that floor alone. When I visited, he wasn't himself — babbling, reaching for things that weren't there. I was scared. I begged a nurse named Brenda to listen. She dismissed me. She was cold, condescending, and made me feel like a nuisance for loving my grandfather.
But it wasn't just Brenda. Not a single nurse, aide, or healthcare professional on that staff recognized that my grandfather was actively declining. No one pulled our family aside. No one mentioned hospice. No one picked up the phone to tell us that the man we loved was fading. They watched it happen and said nothing.
Four days later, he died alone. No family holding his hand. No warning. No goodbye.
We will never get that back. And it didn't have to be this way.
If you love the person you're considering placing here — please, find somewhere else.

After an accident my mother was in need of some therapy to bridge the gap between the hospital and home. Not only were Riverview pointe great in their correspondence but moms stay was wonderful. The food was ok, the nurses and aides were great and not transient or temp workers that don't care about the patients. Lastly the therapists were real professionals quickly getting her back on her feet and strong enough to go home. Couldn't ask for more. Thank you.
