Posted 4/15/24 In June of 2023, we contracted with Right at Home when my parents moved from an assisted living facility to an independent living community. My parents (especially my dad) hated the assisted living facility. The independent community was considerable less expensive and much nicer in many respects. We have a worker come in three days a week two hours each visit. She ensures that my mom gets out of bed, gets bathed, and laundry done (services provided by assisted living but not independent living). Since this doesn’t use up the full two hours, her worker also cleans the apartment - not part of the contracted duties. Having someone bath you and be in your personal space can be uncomfortable, but my my mom likes the worker and is very comfortable with her. We also feel that communication with the worker and the supervisors is very good. We’ve been promptly notified when the worker had concerns of any unusual behaviors or circumstances. The supevisors make routine check ups and contact us regularly to make sure that we are informed and to inquire about any concerns that we may have. It isn’t an easy decision to elect to hire this type of service and choose among the various providers. We’ve been very pleased with our decision to use Right at Home.
