The Houston home is named in honor of Richard A. Anderson, a U.S. Marine who served from April 1968 to August 1969. After training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego and Camp Pendleton, California, Anderson served with Company E during the Vietnam War, rising to the rank of Lance Corporal and serving as Assistant Fire Team Leader.
Anderson was mortally wounded in combat but continued fighting while being treated for his wounds. When an enemy grenade landed near him and a fellow soldier, he rolled onto the grenade to shield his partner from the blast, an act of selflessness for which he was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor on August 24, 1969.

I honestly cannot believe the people that run the facility are the people that were chosen to serve the veteran population. The facility is beautiful and seems like a great place to consider but don't judge a book by its cover and be careful where you place your loved ones. Not only was I lied to by the facility staff (I have the emails to prove it) I was also blackballed for seeking communication and guidance from upper management outside of the facility staff. No deserving veteran should be penalized due to the lack of professionalism and leadership running the home.

I was met at the entrance by resident I visited. He assisted me to register in. The facility is spacious.
