I was admitt to Pruitt and at first you think yea. This is going to be alright. PT and occupational therapy is about the best thing that that place has got going for them. When you push the button for help, you don’t get it. It takes hours on end to get help. I developed septic UTI and pneumonia and was requesting the nurse to help me because I was not doing so well. She never came. This was the day nurse so when the nurse came on, I explained to her what was going on And the last thing I remember is talking to the night nurse and was transported out the next morning about 630 to the hospital. They lost my cell phone and what meds was left with them never made it back to me. Please please don’t consider sending your love ones to any of this types facility. It actually is a matter of life or death. Newbern Hospital has a rehab facility attached to the hospital. Had I of know about this place, I never would of gone to Pruitt.

Spent 1 night. Worst night of my life. There was one CNA who was worth gold. The rest were awful especially nurses. There is no way the owners care about anything more than money.

From a resident who has lived here for over 4 years (including SeaLevel location), it is a 5 star facility with the best therapists around. I came here and my body was a puddle, unable to sit up straight in the bed. Now with the help of therapy, I have been able to transfer to/from my wheelchair and move myself around in the bed. They find creative ways to keep my body in the best shape possible. I would recommend facility to anyone who asks and I'm thankful to God for this place and staff here.

Most of the staff are nice. The rooms are clean. The rooms are sterile and give an institutional feel as they do not allow any pictures on the walls or anything personal in there. The room has a bed for the patient and one metal upright chair in the room. There is no comfortable chair for the patient or guests to sit in. The temperature in the room is regulated by the facility and is not set for the patients comfort. There are not enough staff to adequately take care of the patients. During this visit, the CNA told me there were only 2 CNA's on duty for the entire building. Mom hits the call light and is told they will be right there… 1 hr and 22 minutes later someone arrives. My mother was left for 4 days without a shower even after I was promised she was scheduled to shower the evening I questioned it. The next evening I arrived to find that she had not had a shower or bed bath. I had to get her a shower. I was told she must have been forgotten. My mother came in too weak to walk on her own and labeled as a HIGH fall risk with mental cognitive issues/dementia along with dehydration. They leave her unattended without a walker or cane to walk to the bathroom. I told the nurse but she said she couldn’t do anything to walk with or give her anything that that was not her call to make. She was left in a wheel chair down the hall alone for over 4 hours with no water, no cup and not even being missed. She came in from the hospital with dehydration issues... We ask for help and the staff tells us they cannot help. Isn’t that why the patients are there…for help? We were told to get her ice ourselves if wanted. We find the nutrition room with ice and the door is unlocked so we would get it for her. No door code needed for the digital door lock as it was kept unlocked all the days we have been there (12) I made a cheesecake for my mother, the nurse offered to keep it in the freezer for her and give when she wanted it. She also said it looked delicious and would love some. It was labeled with mom’s name and date and covered. I went back 2 days later and mom has not had any of her cheesecake. No one around to get it for us so we went into the nutrition room to get it and found it way in the back corner of the freezer, uncovered, the lid was no where to be found, with a dirty white plastic spoon in the pie pan and only a slither of the cheesecake remaining and dryed on particles on the spoon. It appeared that the spoon was used to have bites of cheesecake repeatedly for someone.. not for my mother. Other patients food was stored in the same freezer as the cheesecake. I would have gladly made the staff their own cheesecake .. it’s only a jello box cheesecake! But it was my mother’s. The nurse that I showed this to offered to buy us a replacement cheesecake… This facility has allowed a drunk family member to remain in the facility even after hitting someone and the police being called. The drunken person admitted being drunk and hitting someone to the police. The police would not allow him to drive without arresting him. He choose to stay. The administrators allowed him to stay in the facility unattended with the patient. Risky to say the least for the patient's safety. No one has to check in at the front door. This facility has no idea who comes in. My mother has stayed at other facilities over the years that checks every guest in. The food is beyond awful. My mother came into the facility late afternoon 5ish and her first meal that evening was a plate of 2 pieces of bread, green beans and tiny bowl of grits. Meds are given at all times but never consistent from 4pm to midnight. She is given something to help her sleep at 5pm some days and at midnight on others. She had an issue in a wheel chair where she rolled herself to an exterior door. Her teenage grandchild found her and couldn’t get her to her room. She asked for help and was told they could not help them. Why can the nurses/cna's not help the patients?Unacceptable facility. A waste of taxpayer/insurance and medicare dollars.
