My mother was in the Oaks for “rehab”. That is not what she received. She was there for 10 days before we removed her and had to take her back to the ER to be admitted. They did not “rehab” or take care of her at all. She was just laying in bed without any attention for 90% of her stay there. Very disappointing. She needed feeding assistance, but her food tray was put in the room in front of her without the means to use her hands properly. She had extreme malnutrition and dehydration and had to be hospitalized. I do not recommend this facility for rehab. I did not experience the nursing home care.

The 2 CNAs that worked days were great. The activities director, dietary manager, and the nursing director (not sure of her title but her name is Marie) are very nice and tried to help my father. However, the doctor vetoed a UTI test I requested (and the nurse said would be taken care of) for my father without any communication with me and my father ended up in the ER a week later. When we arrived, no one had notified the floor staff we were coming in and no one came to give us any information. I was told by a nurse that a service was not available and the social worker later offered the service to us. It seems like a lack of communication exists overall, or at least between management and staff. It wasn't the worst place, but it wasn't a great experience.

I would not even leave an animal to be cared for in this facility. For a place like this to cost over $11,000 for a room (single or shared), better care for patients and the facility would be expected. But that is not the case. The wallpaper is peeling in multiple areas. The entire facility is in disrepair and technologically outdated compared to current healthcare standards. In the front foyer, there is evidence of either current or past water damage to the ceiling that has not been corrected. There is a shortage of healthcare staff to the point that patients are at times being cared for by housekeeping or maintenance staff. The facilities' overall score from the county is decreasing, and blame is placed on patients when, in actuality, it is a management issue. Some staff are very rude, inconsiderate, and disrespectful to the patients. Call lights from patients in need of assistance are left to ring for long periods. Patients sometimes do not want to call for help because it may take too long. A patient who may require assistance with bathing or toileting may be left in soiled clothes for long periods. When information is relayed to them about a patient, some of the healthcare staff roll their eyes and disregard the patient's request. Patients have fallen trying to get up as no one answered their call light. Patients asking for pain medication are treated as drug abusers. Many of the healthcare staff treat and speak to the patients like naughty children. The main time the staff are at their best healthcare behavior and the facility is clean is when they know the facility will be inspected. To anyone considering staying at this place for rehabilitation or placing a family member in long-term care here, please reconsider, as this is a horrible place that is just a place for them to be mistreated, disrespected, and forgotten. Be careful about trusting all the positive reviews, as not all of them are reliable.

I was very against my grandmother ever being in a nursing home, but the way everything has been handled here is truly from God! Curesa is awesome at organizing activities that includes the families. Mary Beth is a ray of sunshine and helps tremendously. Any problem that has arisen Joy or Charlotte has handled it! The nurses are good and the custodial staff is always cleaning and super friendly when they see me. If my grandmother isn’t at home with me, I’m glad she is here!

Mrs. Joanne was very helpful in administering meds. I am a student nurse and Mrs. Joanne taught me how to read the patients chart correctly and always triple check the med and dosage before administering. It was a great experience and helped me learn a lot!
