Sheila & the entire Prestigious Life team are the best. They helped us by taking a family member of one of our residents when we didn't have any vacancy in our smaller facility. The family was very concerned about where to place their Uncle and wanted him to be with his Sister (their Mother) even though we had no vacancy...Sheila and the team made made the process very smooth for the family and Uncle and months later they repeatedly tell us how happy their Uncle is and how happy they are to have found Prestigious Life for their Uncle.

In the beginning I thought the place was a blessing but after only three months I moved my mom out because the care was despicable. The staff mostly uneducated, the owners completely out of touch with the truth about their facility. Most staff at the time didn’t even have CNA education. For me and my mom, an absolute nightmare. Bad staffing issues. Poor ownership and zero oversight.<br><br>Food was not appropriate for dementia Alzheimer’s as staff would not cut my moms food up so she could eat.<br>Staff chose who they would favor.<br>Accepts residents beyond their scope of training and capabilities.<br>Staff at the time was mostly uneducated about true proper care and most didn’t even have CNA certification.<br>Constant staffing issues and understaffing.<br>My moms falls were not reported to me.<br>Sheila was angry when I brought Hospice in because my mom was losing weight rapidly.<br>Sheila would not listen to my concerns, only placated me with superiority of ALF knowledge, her vast education and excuses.<br>Some staff was downright cruel and neglectful.<br>I was made to feel that I had the issues, not them. They were totally unwilling to look at their facility with open and honest eyes.<br><br>Found mom in urine in her bed often<br>Moms teeth were never brushed<br>Served lunch on her tray in her room and not checked on for hours. Found mom slumped to the side nearly tipped over with food on her lap and chair after 2.5 hours after lunch service.<br>Found mom in bed with legs dangling off her bed with edema that took me a week to get the swelling down after I moved her home.<br>Witnessed a staff member trying to push my mom onto her bed.<br>Witnessed staff members being exceptionally verbally cruel to residents and speaking to my mom disrespectfully.<br>Kitchen person complained when I asked if mom could be served a pbj if she wouldn’t eat anything else. Mom lost a lot of weight fast because she couldn’t manipulate her fork to feed herself and food wasn’t cut up to help and encourage her.<br>Staff was late or wouldn’t show up so they would be understaffed often leading to neglectful care.<br>They would never report Mom’s falls to me or anyone, not even Hospice.<br>Sheila didn’t want Hospice in her facility and blamed them for my mothers quick departure which was 100% not the case.<br><br>I removed my mom after 3 disturbing months of witnessing highly alarming deficiencies and neglectful care she received that I felt my mom experienced and I witnessed with my own eyes and ears. I was at the facility daily because I needed to get to a point of trust but that never happened because of what I would walk into often. My experience with my mom and my observations lead me to determine that this facility is not anything like they portrayed to me at the beginning and that I had made a serious mistake leaving her in their care.<br><br>What’s most perplexing is how three educated owners can be so blind to what was really going on in their facility and so unwilling to have a critical eye. My expectations were that of what I was told to expect when I first called and went in to interview. The expectation level given to me was created by the owners, not me and when they couldn’t deliver on those expectations they created, they blamed me. I remember the day that I was moving my mom out when Kathy, one of the owners, came into mom’s room and said to me “I just don’t think there’s anything we can do to make you happy” and replied “I agree, there is nothing”. After she stated this, as I was gathering my mothers belongings, I felt very comfortable in my mind with my decision to remove her from that facility, because the problem comes from the top down.<br><br>I brought my mom to my home to care for her after this experience and never regretted one minute of it.

Best place ever for your loved ones My 87 year old mother has lived here for at least two years. She is well cared for. The staff really does care about the residents. If you are looking for a place for someone you care a lot about, this is that place!

I wouldn't hesitate to put my family in this facility. Because the staff is some great people and they take great care of their residents. They treat them like family and that warms my heart. That also makes me feel safe to leave my loved ones in the hands of this facility.
