I am a frequent flyer at Kishwaukee hospital in DEKALB and I wish I was a hypochondriac but unfortunately I just have a lot of issues and a lot of diagnosis. Anyway I very rarely go to rehab after a hospital trip. They always advise me too and I'm not going. There's no way. I lost my daughter recently and put on 60 pounds already being obese I needed to go to rehab. I was in the hospital for 10 days and I'd like to be able to walk again because I was walking before anyway a good friend of mine whose step mother is in a rehab with Alzheimer's told me about the Care facility in Shabonna Illinois. Now I wanted to go to Geneva or to Batavia but insurance dictates. I listened to my friend and came to the facility in Shabbona. The place isn't perfect. The care I'm getting is fabulous. There is not one person that works here that is not kind, caring and empathetic. I've never been in an institutional place where somebody's not happy and passes it on to patients. It's hard enough to be here way from home and the genuine caring and compassion from the entire staff is really unbelievable. I am embracing everything here. The food is not bad and if it was bad, I need to lose weight anyway, but God bless this place and all the people that work here. It's like a hidden gem. I'm very very fortunate to be here and I know I'll be really doing good when I get home. They want you to get better it's not just a job. Dawn Highstreet 3/6/26

They have the most caring staff that will jump through hoops to help their residents and rehab patients. Nurses, Dr , staff they are all amazing. Thank you for taking such good care of my mom and for making sure when there is issues there is clear communication and problem solving. I am so happy we choose this location for our short term rehab stay.
