My mother recently spent a week at Pine Forest, and I'm completely satisfied with the care she received there. My mom is a difficult case (dementia, memory loss, aggressive behavior), but they did a great job, especially the head nurse Lamenah Merriwether.

Pine forest has excellent nursing care , which is the most important part of rehabilitation. The staff is friendly, competent and supportive .They did an amazing job in preventing infection and ensuring that care was effective . Marissa Feiia does everything she can to meet your needs and make the experience positive .she was always available and brings tremendous joy each day. The physical therapy department was amazing . They worked hard to provide excellent fitness , 5 days a week and it made a huge difference . Pine Forest has a number of activities and supported patients with enjoyment and included spiritual times too. They celebrate holidays and birthdays . We are forever grateful to them for their care .

When a loved one can no longer be cared for by family members and must be taken care of professionally, after the crying and doubt about which facility would be the best, in my opinion, Pine Forest is a gem. Marissa, the first person you will meet, in admissions, truly understands the inner turmoil you are experiencing, is a calming and reassuring voice of reason. The Director of Social Services, Lamenah is a rare gift. She is kind, professional, incredibly knowledgeable and understanding of the new oceans you are trying to navigate on a piece of driftwood. Lamenah is the lynchpin with all the working parts involved in caring for your loved one. She is always available to answer any and all questions. Lamenah coordinates, and ensures your loved one receives all services to improve their well being. Sunny, the Physical Therapist and Gigi, the Occupational Therapist, go above and beyond using their well honed skills ensuring each patient gets the best of their expertise. The dietitian, Davora, will notice if your loved one avoids certain foods. She will ask you, “what does he/she like” and will make those foods available. The Nursing Staff on the 2nd floor really care. I was in a room, putting clothing away for my spouse and heard an older patient complaining, and the one of the Nursing Staff assisting her had patience, kindness in her words and sympathy. This touched my heart because I knew right then, and there that my spouse will be in the best hands. You are able to call the social worker, nurses station, therapists and dietitian anytime you choose, they will answer your questions. There was never a time I made a phone call and my questions or concerns were not answered immediately. Due to the hard working, incredibly kind, understanding, compassionate, supportive staff at Pine Forest, I was able to sleep at night. How do you put a price on peace of mind?

Don't even know where to start with this place, other than stay far away. I'll begin with the one pro, SOME of the nursing staff/aids seemed to really get to know my grandparents and became friends to them. Otherwise, it was hot as anything in the summer, constantly smelled like urine, and needs a major paint job or something. It was extremely difficult to deal with just about everyone at this facility, if you could even get in touch with them. You can dial their number and hit every extension for days in a row and never speak to a person. This is alarming, when you have loved ones at the facility and it's literally like there is no one there. The admissions coordinator as well as social worker, Marissa, has to be one of the most unpleasant people I have ever dealt with in a professional setting. As we were trying to get my grandparents moved into another facility, she was nasty to myself, the new facility, and everyone in between. Sending over incorrect information NUMEROUS times, and saying "I don't have time for this" when asked to send over the correct document. She began to recognize my phone number and would pick up the phone and hang up on me. Only picked up when I began using my work line or different phones other than my cell. Felt as though she was trying to make things more difficult at every chance she could, even though "she could have new people fill their beds by tomorrow." She always seemed to be busy on 'zoom meetings' for days at a time, maybe I should have tried scheduling time with her that way. The other manager there, Brian, was nice when I finally spoke to him - after 2 WEEKS of leaving messages for him, which of course he ever received. I could go on and on, but this place makes even the calmest tempered people feel infuriated.

Let’s be real. Like all Nursing and Rehabilitation facilities, there are always pros and cons, but Pine Forest is on the plus side. Administrator David is too notch to work with - very attentive to expressed concerns. Nurses are very caring as well, from Head Nurse Jackie to the everyone else I’ve met. Facility is kept very clean which is always a great plus. I “advocate” for my brother from a distance. As such, it can be frustrating at times, but I know that Pine Forest will take good care of him. My brother loves the food! - good job kitchen staff. Recreation staff have also been very kind to my brother, as have everyone…maintenance, social work, front desk, administration, and all! THANK YOU VERY MUCH all.
