Orchard Inn at The Baldwin is an assisted living and memory support community in Londonderry, New Hampshire. The community operates a small-home model with four specialized households, each accommodating just ten residents, designed to foster independence and personal connections in an intimate, family-style atmosphere.
Assisted living services are tailored to each resident's needs and preferences, with personalized care plans that may include help with dressing, bathing, medication management, and mobility assistance. Weekly housekeeping and laundry services are provided, though residents who prefer to handle these tasks themselves have the freedom to do so. Residents receive care from consistent, dedicated nursing staff who know their histories, routines, and preferences, while a licensed nurse is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Memory support households serve residents in the early- to mid-stages of Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia. Staff members receive specialized dementia training and tailor activities to individual interests. Like the assisted living households, memory support residents are encouraged to engage in daily household tasks as they choose and are able, within a comforting environment that promotes familiarity and close bonds.
Each resident has a private suite with a spacious bedroom, bathroom, generous closet space, and large windows. Suites are arranged around a central hearth area where residents gather for meals, programs, and social engagement. The community incorporates biophilic design principles with natural light and connections to nature. An open kitchen and dining area serves as a hub where residents can observe or participate in meal preparation; menus feature fresh, quality ingredients, and meals are personalized to accommodate dietary preferences and family recipes.
The Baldwin is licensed as an Assisted Living Residences–Supported Residential Health Care Facility by the State of New Hampshire, allowing it to serve individuals requiring higher levels of care. The community offers on-site physical, occupational, and speech therapy, and in most cases can provide continuing nursing care, short-term medical care, or hospice care while residents remain in their private suites.
