I cannot thank or praise your nurse Colleen enough! She is the queen of difficult wound care, exceedingly punctual, very personable (yet professional) and had amazing follow through. Truly the perfect emissary for your organization. While we are glad we will no longer need her, we will miss seeing her.

5 stars for the staff. I was very happy with the nurse's genuine compassion. They listened with empathy and provided us with helpful education and materials. They were never in a hurry to leave, but I know they had been very busy. I am so happy with their dedication to my Dad's comfort. We did encounter several issues and it was a bumpy and unnecessarily stressful transition from palliative care to hospice care. My Dad was stuck in the hospital an additional day because of lack of response and coordination with hospital staff. Some suggestions for upper management: 1. You need a better notification and communication system. The communication is awful. We advised every staff member that the main contact number was incorrect. They had my Dad's phone number as the main contact, and he was not in a state where he can answer the phone or talk. Everyone kept calling the wrong number and we asked multiple times for it to be updated. Staff made corrections, but they never updated. An "alert" was supposedly placed to inform staff of the right number to call, because the system was not updating promply with the correct phone number. Calls from different staff kept going to the wrong number. Someone mixed my Dad up with a different patient. We were called and offered services for a patient with different needs, and were very confused. After my Dad passed away, another staff member called to do ADLs that were scheduled before he passed away. Today, we were called to let us know that they were on their way (again, called my Dad's phone) and had to tell them that he would not be needing a bath because he passed away and his body was no longer at the house. An alert system for these services that their patient was deceased would have prevented this. The staff member that called felt awful but we know it wasn't her fault. 2. Get a contract with a better medical supplier. Orders for much needed equipment (oral syringes for medication, gloves, briefs) that the nurse ordered were not delivered. The visiting nurse that came that day had to buy them at the store because the supplier never delivered them. The man that delivered my Dad's hospital bed was loud and unempathetic. He claimed to have down that we needed an oxygen concentrator delivered too, but it had been delivered a couple hours before that. When we explained this, he argued with us and wanted to know why it still said that it needed to be delivered. I don't know, figure it out because that's your company's error, not my problem. He proceeds to loudly argue right next to my Dad's room while he was trying to rest. He left the front door wide open on a very cold day while he was in his truck. After he finally did set up the bed, I asked him to wait while I made sure it was operating correctly, and was checking the controls because he did not test the equipment before he left. He advised us that there's a number on the side of the bed that we could call if there were any problems with the equipment function, and made it clear that he hopes its not before 7 am, because he was on call and it would be him that would have to come back. After he left, I saw a nut on the floor next to the bed, and later while I was adjusting the head of the bed, there was a loud banging noise and the bed fell back (startled my Dad, and we couldn't raise the bed so he could breathe easiler). The man that came back the next day to fix it was nice though. Also, the nurses should not have to tell us to say that if the delivery company calls to try to see if equipment can wait until the next day to say no, even when they order it stat. Why are your staff having to warn us about how to handle the delivery services poor customer service? Why are you still contracted with this company to use their services?

Totally wonderful experience. Karen at Ohio Living could not have been better. Our father, who has been home bound for a couple years, had a serious setback. He became unresponsive, and within an hour or two of calling, their Hospice was at our home, insuring he would be comfortable and pain free. Dawn bent over backwards to make sure all our dad's needs, as well as our needs were covered. Very grateful for Ohio Living.

Ohio Living Hospice was the perfect choice for our Mom! She was in their care for nearly 2 years. Shenese is such a caring and compassionate caregiver. She treated our Mom as if she was her own Mother. Sean was Mom's nurse and was always very thorough in his care and evaluations. Sean's communication always kept me informed of Mom's condition. His evaluations made it possible for me to spend the last days with Mom. Missy was her Social Worker and was equally as caring and loving. Jewell, the Pastor, made arrangements on a very short notice to have a priest perform "Last Rights" for Mom. He stayed and prayed with our family until after Mom passed. Words can't express my gratitude to Ohio Living Hospice for their passionate care. It was easy to see they loved Mom. Our family will be forever grateful!
