I am extremely disappointed with the care and honesty at this facility. My 90-year-old friend is blind and completely dependent on staff to respect and protect her belongings. One morning I personally brought her a bag filled with high-quality snacks, including expensive granola bars, crackers, and ham-and-cheese snacks because she is often left hungry between meals. By later that same day, the entire bag had disappeared. Since she cannot see who comes and goes from her room, she has no way of knowing what happened to her belongings. This was not an isolated incident. Several brand-new Polo shirts were also taken from her closet. We were told they were "lost in the laundry," even though each item was clearly labeled with her name. It is heartbreaking and unacceptable that a vulnerable 90-year-old woman would have food and personal belongings disappear while under the care of a rehabilitation facility. Stealing nutrition from an elderly resident who relies on others for her well-being is something I find particularly disturbing. Families should be aware of these issues and closely monitor their loved ones' belongings if they choose this facility.
