Recently one of my family members had to come here for short term rehab , she was in and out within 3 weeks . The care she received from everyone here was nothing short of amazing. I know how tough nursing homes can be , but they really did good .

I checked in after a hip replacement in mid-Nov. There was a loud party atmosphere among the staff in the evenings out in the hallway. No one gave me fresh water on the nightstand or helped me with personal care such as providing towels or helping me wash. No one cleaned my room. The food was inadequate and unpalatable. It was cold, the bedding inadequate, and I had to sleep in my regular clothing with my coat over me. My calls to the staff were rarely answered. I did not see a doctor or physical therapist for the first 3 days of my stay. My pain was not relieved in a timely manner, for the 1st day of my 5-day stay, when it was at its worst. One day my room was ice cold, so that my roommate had to go sleep in the residents' lounge, after we both complained about the cold, and nothing was done. Next day she got a new room. I was so cold all day that at 9pm the next night, I asked a staff member to check on it, and it turned out that the A/C had been on all that time. She asked "Do you want me to turn off the AC? Of course, I said yes and the heat was turned on finally. But by then I was so stressed that I left the facility AMA the next morning.

I play acoustic music for some of the residents once a month and have gotten to know some of the staff and those who have made Norwich Rehab their home. Im always impressed with the care provided by the workers. Im grateful to Kimi and her team who go out of their way to be kind to everyone and bring entertainment to the residents. I wish my mother would have recuperated at a caring facility like this when she needed needed rehabilitation.

My loved one has been here twice for short term rehab. The physical therapy staff are exceptional. The nursing/CNA staff on days are great. The dietary department listens and makes adjustments accordingly. Their menu is diverse and the food is well prepared. With that being said, laundry has lost many items of their clothing, and the nights and weekend nursing/CNA staff need improvement, mostly due to staff shortages and some for their lack of work ethic/care.
