I'm putting the 5 star towards the imaging dept that I visited for my mammogram, the ladies are always pleasant and professional. This hospital has gotten better over the years and can't wait for Novant to take over. The ER has always been slow, so I go to Hugh Chatham. In and out within an hour.

The nursing staff was great. I only have positive things to say about them. Housekeeping also was excellent. However, the kitchen staff leaves a lot to be desired. The food was not good, and was served cold. I think they could do better.

Hospital : 5 stars Emergency Room: 4 stars, but give them some grace I had a hospital stay in the middle of march for 5 days. The emergency room was typical, with long waits and no liquids, food, or medicine until they knew what they were dealing with. Kind staff, 4 stars is mostly for the typical emergency room stuff that I wish didn't exist, but understand the protocols and the need for such measures to exist, and is stuff you'd find at any hospital's emergency room. I'm also thankful for the emergency room doctor, who had originally ordered me to be discharged, but then upon evaluating my worsened condition at the end of the emergency room stay, decided to keep me due to increased heart rate, fever, and chills. Because of this, they were able to run more tests and diagnose me with bacteremia during my hospital stay. I had been dismissed from my own pcp, so it was reassuring to have a doctor look at me, pause, and not dismiss my awful condition. I have since had three more emergency room visits, just from complications from recovery, and all similar, with good care from the staff, just restricted to what they can and can't do based on health and protocol. Very thankful. One visit for a blood clot, one for removing the IV that was placed in my arm for antibiotics. My actual hospital stay was wonderful. I was very scared and in tears a lot of the time, but the nurses, aids, and hospitalists were incredibly kind to me, and like family in this scary time. Dr. Hamilton was very thorough, which was much appreciated, and ran so many tests to ensure everything was covered and nothing missed. I wish I could remember the names of everyone who took care of me, because literally everyone in the hospital was so kind, patient, and really there for me. I wish I could remember the name of my night nurse, because she was absolutely wonderful, but my brain was so frazzled at the time, I just remember her face and her kindness. There was a day nurse whose name I do remember, Sarah (or maybe Sara), who comforted me immensely. Also, the food was delicious! And the room nice and cold, as per my request. I had to have my blood taken many times, and so many IV's done with and without ultrasound, and everyone was so wonderful. Thank you so much for the care.

the staff in Labor & Delivery are fantastic. they helped me feel comfortable and safe. special shout out to Sam and Morgin, both incredibly sweet girls! thank you to Dr. Devore for delivering my sweet boy by emergency C-section. I also had a wonderful anesthesiologist for my epidural, he was very kind and caring. I appreciate every one of you that helped me through my stay Tuesday through Friday. 😊

I became very sick on Thanksgiving day and had to have emergency surgery. Dr Buchholz preformed my surgery and he was great. I was placed in ICU for 9 days and I could not have asked for better care. The nurses in ICU were phenomenal they made sure I was comfortable, I had anything and everything I needed while there. I cannot say enough on how much I appreciate everything these nurses and my doctor done for me. I want to thank my dr Buchholz and all the ICU nurses for their kindness during my stay at Northern Hospital. I also want to thank the Emergency room staff and all the OR staff for their kindness. May God Bless each and everyone that had a part in my recovery.
