Quickly run the other way...I was a patient, I am 75 on oxygen, stayed there for 3 weeks for Physical Therapy for a broken leg with a rod in it. I know not of one positive thing, I can share. Nursing staff is lazy and rude. A nurses aid abused me daily. My family reported this. We were assured by the Head of Nursing & the Supervisor they were so sorry, she would be moved to another floor. One week later she was back in my room. It could take 3 hrs. to get something for pain. Cleaning was not a top priority. The food smells disgusting, looks disgusting and taste disgusting. I left early so sick I went to the ER. Nurses at NHC kept telling me there was nothing wrong with me. Yet when I would walk 12 steps my oxygen dropped to 71. Oxygen should never drop lower than 88. In the ER doctors would each ask where have you been. NHC of course. NHC is infested with numerous bacteria. I acquired 5 of them, Pneumonia, Corona Virus, MRSA, Rhino Virus & Para Influenza. I ended up in hospital for 9 days on intense antibiotics. Since I had this break in Physical Therapy insurance refused covering anymore. Even though I still had days left to use. Within an hour it changed to I was going home. I have stairs into the house that I have not been instructed to accomplish. Please don't do this to your family member.

My grandparents are both at the nursing home. I have been very happy with the care they get. The nurses have been great to work with they give me information. My Grandma And Grandpa are always clean when I come in the activities are great. They keep my grandma very busy. The place is always clean. My grandparents always look good and they look happy. I am glad my grandparents found such a great place to be able to put my Grandma And Grandpa and a great place that I can visit them at. There is always entertainment going on. Thank you to all the wonderful staff that work there again the therapist have really helped. Food is really really good my Grandpa really likes the breakfast, he loves the scrambled eggs and they always make sure that he has two glasses of chocolate milk because he enjoys that. they are very focused on individual care at the facility if you are looking at a place that really cares for people I would say that NHC Maryland Heights is the place that you would want to put anybody you love

The therapy staff showed genuine dedication to my dad during his short-term rehab at NHC Maryland Heights. When he entered, he was very immobile due to a spinal cord injury. His physical therapist successfully trained him and his caregiver (my mom) on methods for helping him transfer between a wheelchair and a bed. The physical therapist kept thinking about, trying, and refining transfer methods until my mom and dad felt comfortable with the process. She also provided my mom with other caregiving strategies and worked with other NHC staff to secure the necessary arrangements so that my dad could be transported home safely. Some nursing staff displayed unprofessionalism. Although many days and nights were uneventful and ordinary, many other days and nights included incidents such as (1) placing my dad's call button out of his reach so that he would not be able to call for staff assistance at night, (2) responding to his request for a diaper change by just turning off his call button light without changing his diaper, (3) accusing my dad of deliberately spilling water when he simply accidentally lost his grip on his cup handle, and (4) refusing to change his diaper (which had poop) when it was too close to the staff member's lunch break and then intimidating my mom and me when the staff member noticed we were discussing the incident. My mom, who frequently visited my dad, often ended up changing his diaper herself rather than asking for the staff to help so that she didn't have to deal with this unprofessionalism.

Marshell Smith, Kierra Carter, Jaisi Cutts, Michelle Perry, Jamanda Davis, Amiani, Fremaly, Derraca Angela, thank you ALL at nurse's station 101 for your professional care, and Concern for my mother Patricia Walton while she was in physical rehab in October. I really appreciate Jenny at the front desk, she's always willing to help with any questions I had. She keeps a Smile on her face welcoming all that enters the facility.. Can't forget Social worker Caitlin, she's very professional and caring. Physical therapy employees thank you also, speech therapist too.🙂💯👍🏿

The decision to move a loved one into a care home is incredibly difficult. The research process is exhausting and terrifying. I will forever be grateful we chose NHC Maryland Heights. From the Directors, business officers, social workers, front desk staff, custodial staff, to the incredibly loving nurses, we feel like family. My loved one’s Ivy House nurses and aides are phenomenal. They know my loved one. They reach out to us with updates and a desire to team together to help my loved one. The profound guilt we felt when moving her in has since been nurtured because of the staff and processes that keep her safe and cared for. I will always recommend NHC to my friends and family when they need a care home.
