I have worked with Caris Healthcare for a few months now and am at NHC. Healthcare at least once a week. I have seen patients treated with utmost respect. Tending to their needs in a timely manner. The staff are friendly and efficient.

NHC is truly lucky to have the staff they do — these are people who genuinely care, and it shows every single day. Whitney, one of the CNAs, is the real deal. The way she speaks to residents is full of compassion and love. You can tell it's not just a job for her. She has one of the kindest hearts I've ever seen in this field. Nurse Cara always brings such a positive, welcoming energy every time I'm around her. That kind of attitude makes a huge difference in an environment like this. Nurse Chris is another standout — he has this warm, bubbly personality that lights up a room, and underneath that you can see just how deeply he cares about the residents. And Sheila in activities goes above and beyond. She puts so much effort into her programming and has been incredibly helpful to me personally with memorial services. That kind of support means more than words can say.

My mother was here for subacute rehab after an illness and received excellent care. Helen her aide took such great care of my mom. She truly cares and it shows!

0 stars! Please have the decency for your family member to NOT send them to this place. It is FILLED to the brim with people that are the least compassionate people in health care I have ever had the absolute displeasure of encountering. My father was only there a short amount of time but I truly feared leaving him every night, wondering what I was going to come back to each morning. This place isnt a rehab, its a place that sick elderly people are sent to be ignored and die. They are just a payout! The lack of effort is crazy. The way the staff, even its' superiors, speaks to patients and their families is shocking. You would think for a place that has patients that are very ill with things such as cancer, dementia, etc. that they would be able to speak with kindness and sympathy instead of with malice. In addition to the above, there were several times we overheard nurses talking extremely unprofessional to our father. Calling him a baby and to stop complaining because he was in PAIN because he had cancer and sitting in a chair made him hurt. After the first night our father was at the facility, we came to visit the next morning only to find him, not in his room, but in a wheelchair folded over onto himself, stiff as a board from being in that position all night. We couldnt even get anyone to help us to get him back to his room and had to struggle to get him back on our own. We spoke to staff about this and told it would be handled. Next morning, same issue but this time we were told by his roommate that when our father started hollering at nighttime, which is common with dementia (sun down), that the nurses put him in a wheelchair and brought him into the hall and just left him there all night long. Once again, we confronted staff and was told it would be handled. At this point, our plan was to get our father out of there as soon as possible which we did. Another instance was I witnessed another patient vomit on himself in the hallway so I ran and got the nurses to come help. Their version of helping this gentleman, A VETERAN!, was to roll him into his room and let him sit in his vomit (later confirmed by his wife). I post this to hopefully save someone's family the heart break. If we wouldve known what we know now, he would have never went to NHC. We would have NEVER subjected our father to the mess that he had to experience in his last days on Earth.

I had a deeply unsettling road rage encounter with an employee of NHC Healthcare that has left me questioning the judgment and emotional regulation of someone entrusted with the care of vulnerable individuals. While driving my daughter to school in the morning, I signaled and legally merged into the left lane to make a turn onto Garden City Connector — the same road this employee appears to use for his commute. Rather than turning into the facility’s parking lot, he followed my vehicle for 1.7 miles to my daughter’s school. During this time, he repeatedly honked his horn and took photos of my car, clearly attempting to intimidate me. The inability to manage his emotions and the decision to escalate a simple traffic situation into a threatening confrontation is not only unprofessional — it’s concerning, especially given the nature of his work in a caregiving environment. For the sake of the patients and families who rely on NHC Healthcare, I sincerely hope the staff is held to a higher standard of behavior and emotional maturity than what I experienced.
