New York Memory Center

New York Memory Center is a social-model day program in Park Slope, Brooklyn, New York, specializing in care and support for people living with memory loss, including Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia, Lewy Body Dementia, and frontotemporal dementia. For over 40 years, the center has served both individuals affected by memory loss and their caregivers.

The center offers diverse programming tailored to the needs of people living with memory loss, including live music and singing, hands-on art workshops, gentle exercise classes, and social activities. Members receive a hot lunch meal and snacks, and the program provides safe, accessible van transportation to and from most neighborhoods in Brooklyn. The center operates weekdays from 9:30am to 3:00pm.

For participants, the program creates opportunities to build community, maintain a sense of belonging and purpose, and sustain independence while reducing isolation, loneliness, boredom, and depression. For caregivers, the program provides peace of mind, time to focus on work, family, and self-care, and support in coping with the stress of caregiving.
