It is a BAD look when the Admissions Director is cold as ice. But maybe she did me a favor because if New Jersey Eastern Star feels like she is a good representation of their facility then they did me a favor. I would never send my father here or any loved one. Choosing a rehab is a difficult decision and one that should be handled with empathy…please provide her with some training even though it would seem obvious that the Director or Head of Admissions be friendly and compassionate and willing to listen at a REHAB facility.

My mother was in long term care for 9 months. We found the administration to be very approachable, all were very helpful whenever we had a question. The nursing staff was very compassionate & caring. The activities director (Simone) is above & beyond - she has several activities planned each and every day from gardening, arts & crafts, manicures, bingo games, etc. She gives the residents a chance to make friendships, and keep entertained & informed. Personal laundry is done daily. The place is also very clean.

Had a great tour of the facility but they decided they didn't want to accept my mother-in-law because she had a medical issue on her tailbone. Isthat what you're in the business to take care of. Really stupid in my opinion.

Just visited my loved one at NJ Eastern Home, and had a great experience! They implemented a new visitor sign in system which was surprisingly easy to use and made me happy to know the simple yet affective measures that are in place for my family member, and all other residents safety. You just walk through a small detector as you would at any sports game or venue and then you are good to go. It adds no more than 1 minute of what the sign in process used to be but 1 extra minute in return for knowing the facility is a safe place seems like a win- win to me. My family has used this facility for years and will continue to use and recommend to others!

Is anybody else deeply troubled after coming to this facility recently? come on, a weapon detector???!!! I understand the reason for safety, but not to this level in a nursing home! There's a lot of security measures that can be explored, but not this kind of insanity. I don't know what the heck management is thinking! Seriously, whoever thought of this idea better be MENTALLY CHECKED of fired right away. And if it is their Board, God bless all the patients there. Glad my family member will be discharged soon. Will never ever come back to this place. So any of you who considered ever coming to this place, good luck. Seems like this place has some serious issues with security to subject people to this extreme. Yes, they may be good with care, but this thing changes my rating from 5 stars to a negative star, if only there's that rating option here.
