My Place Too, Inc

My Place Too is a residential care facility located in De Soto, Missouri, providing support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The facility operates as a more rural alternative to its sister location, with staffing and services designed to create a safe, home-like environment where residents are encouraged to reach their full potential.

The facility is staffed 24/7 and provides comprehensive support services including personal care such as bathing, grooming, and hair care; medication administration; financial management assistance; and transportation to doctor appointments. My Place Too offers three meals daily plus snacks with attention to healthy, balanced nutrition. The facility features outdoor spaces including a patio with gazebo, a walking trail, basketball court, and activity areas where residents can enjoy recreational time in a safe setting.

Residents participate in frequent community activities with staffing and transportation provided. The facility partners with Next Step for Life, the local leisure services provider, for activities including movie nights, dinners out, special trips, dances, and Special Olympics sports such as basketball, softball, bowling, bocce ball, track and field, and swimming. An activity coordinator also organizes additional outings to local events, holiday parties, talent shows, and seasonal celebrations.

Many residents work at JSI, a sheltered workshop in Jefferson County, while others have found employment in the community through Vocational Rehabilitation. The facility accepts Medicaid and Social Security benefits as payment for room and board, with a single fee covering all services including cable in bedrooms, personal care products, and transportation to local medical appointments and facility activities.
