I spent 3 weeks and 1 day at MPR due to a serious car wreck. During the stay I had to return to the ER for medical complications. These complications were met with arguments and lack of caring by certain staff. I never saw the doctor and the PA only twice. The food is horrible and the laundry staff lost a favorite tee shirt. Paperwork was lost and there was a lack of communication and empathy by nursing. Thankfully the PT/OT staff, certain CNAs and nurses were very kind and professional. If not for them I would have given 1 star. If the only ones I had to work with were OT and PT, I would have given 5 stars!

Our arrival at Madonna Ptak was a truly welcome experience. During COVID, it became necessary to move our mom from assisted living into a long-term care facility as her health began to decline. From the moment we arrived at Madonna Ptak, we could immediately feel the difference. We were not only grateful to find a place for her — we were relieved to see the level of skilled care, compassion, and attention she received. The nurses and caregivers were wonderful, the meals were great, and the overall environment gave us confidence that she was in good hands. Almost immediately, we saw an improvement in Mom’s physical and mental well-being. That kind of peace of mind is hard to describe, especially when you are entrusting someone you love to the care of others. It is a blessing to know your mom is safe, cared for, and treated with dignity — even when you are not there. We are very thankful for Madonna Ptak and the care they provided.

My brother has been at Morton Plant Rehab for 2 years. He has been taken care of wonderfully! Every time I visit him, no matter what time of day or night, the place is clean and he is always happy and cared for. The quality of care is excellent! The food is wonderful, too. I feel relieved knowing that he is there.

My mother has dementia and as part of the progression of her illness she has extremely limited sight, decreased mobility and ability to communicate. I am an RN and a Psychologist friend assisted me in the search for a facility that would be able to work with my mother’s disabilities. We selected Madonna Ptak. I knew in advance lots of communication would be needed. Communication , like relationships, requires the care of family members, patients and professionals. Over time I have had communication with Doctors, Nurses Techs, Administration, the Front desk team (invaluable!), Social Worker, Physical Therapy, Occupational therapy, Dietary, the chef (and his team) Housekeeping and Maintenance, Physical Therapy. We may be talking about hydration, transfers, medications, meals or activities. I have been met with caring consideration, I was received with caring consideration, patience, and mostly kindness. By being clear and keeping in touch, most times my desired preferences were possible and when not possible, an explanation was provided. I try to remain flexible myself. My friend that helped me select, made it very clear how important activities are in my mom’s and really every patient’s care. Madonna PTAK’s team (Shelley, Tan, Joan and casts of others ) are especially creative with this. They provide a way for patients to connect with others through socialization and entertainment; music, spiritual, word trivia, arts and crafts . (If I am able join them or not, it’s a fun time when words are sometimes difficult, and days are long). Thank you all for being the best part of life…many days!) My whole family feels fortunate to find a place where my Mom feels safe and gets excellent multidisciplinary care. You are our people…we appreciate all you do. thank you so much!!

This facility is by far the best skilled nursing home I have had the pleasure of working at. The management team is compromised of not only people great at their professions but are also some of the most caring people I have known. Every morning we start the day out with a meeting focused on identifying any issues our residents or families may have had both positive and negative. We focus on how to improve our practices to make our facility more comfortable and efficient both in the short and long term for all of our guests. I am humbled to be part of such a great organization.
