This place Monterey palms is absolutely horrible. The staff seem to know nothing about their patients’ medical history, conditions, medications, or dietary restrictions because nothing is properly charted or communicated.<br><br>One of the nights that my mother-in-law was there was unacceptable. She repeatedly called for help because her ileostomy bag was full and needed to be emptied, and staff ignored her. She woke up completely soiled after the bag overflowed, and then overheard staff laughing about it afterward. No patient should ever be treated with that level of neglect and disrespect.<br><br>To make things worse, she was finally able to tolerate solid foods, but the morning after that overnight incident a nurse came into her room and aggressively took her breakfast tray away, insisting she wasn’t allowed solids because the staff clearly had no idea about her updated care instructions. She was then left without food until after 1 PM while sitting in her room crying out of frustration.<br><br>The lack of communication, compassion, professionalism, and basic patient care here is beyond disturbing. I would never recommend this facility to anyone trusting them with a loved one’s care. Needless to say we checked her out!

I would highly recommend Monterey Palms for a rehabilitation / skilled nursing facility. From the attentive and kind Director of Nursing, to the calm and caring CNAs, to the welcoming Receptionist, to the cool Physical Therapists and fun Occupational Therapists, to the patient and dedicated Nurses, to the punctual transportation team, to the informational admissions and billing rep, to the sweet and understanding social workers, to the caring nutritionist /culinary team, and to the friendly Doctors on duty, everyone was professional and a pleasure to work with. My loved one was under the care of the team at Monterey Palms for over three weeks. I felt confident and comfortable that the team was taking care of him and checking in on him frequently. The facility was always clean and the care team was flawless with their routine of taking care of all the patients/residents. The monthly meal calendar has a great variety and each meal is well balanced. If any of my family or friends need to go to a SNF, I would recommend Monterey Palms without hesitation.
