Could not be happier that we found Amber House for my 88-year-old dad! After time last year in the hospital and a rehab facility, my dad was so weak and discouraged that we weren't sure he would ever really improve. Since moving into Amber House, his recovery is nothing short of remarkable. Jojo, Vanessa and their team are incredibly caring and attentive. His overall health is vastly improved, and they have him joining in with, and enjoying, activities that I never would have imagined.
Transitioning a loved one to a senior living facility can be very stressful and overwhelming. When we moved my 91 year old father into Amber House, it was perfect from day one. Joanne made sure every detail was taken care of and has continued to do so everyday. The staff is caring, compassionate and most importantly competent. The residents are treated like family. I am so grateful for Joanne and her wonderful team as I know my father is in the perfect place.
Amber House has been an absolute blessing for our family. The love, compassion, and professionalism shown by the staff in caring for my 91-year-old father have exceeded all of our expectations. From the very beginning, they made him feel safe, respected, and truly at home.
The caregivers are attentive, patient, and genuinely caring, always treating my father with dignity and kindness. It gives our family tremendous peace of mind knowing he is surrounded by people who truly care about his well-being and happiness.
Amber House itself is absolutely beautiful — warm, peaceful, and impeccably maintained. The residents have lovely private patios, and there are flowers blooming everywhere, creating such a serene and uplifting atmosphere. It truly feels like a lovely home.
We are deeply grateful to Joanne and Jamie and everyone at Amber House for the exceptional care and support they provide every single day. I would highly recommend Amber House to any family looking for a loving, trustworthy, and beautiful residential care home for their loved one.
After living in his and my mother’s home till the age of 99, my newly widowed father moved into Amber House. Even before we arrived, he, my siblings, and I were warmly embraced by Joanne and the entire staff. On his first evening there they fixed his favorite foods and helped make him as comfortable and safe as possible. They welcomed his friends as well as us, and encouraged Dad’s many interests, which was so important for someone who had been so active for so long. The Amber House team organized activities and communicated regularly with our family, as we all live out of state. Throughout his time there, he was treated with love, respect, kindness, and incredible attention to detail. It is hard to fully articulate how much we appreciate all they did for Dad and how comforted we were knowing that he was in a beautiful, comfortable, and compassionate environment. I'd give them seven stars on a scale of five.
From the moment I walked into Amber House and met Joanne (owner), I knew that my mom was moving into a very special place where she would be surrounded by joy, beautiful accommodations, creative entertainment/activities and most importantly, loving and attentive care. Joanne and her husband, Jamie have created an environment of life and celebration in their pristine home. The caregivers are tenured, engaged, dedicated and care so much for each resident, of which there are only 6 total. Their love for each person is palpable and it’s clear that everyone working at Amber House is there for their compassion for others. My mom was the first resident at Amber House and spent her last 15 months of life there. I can’t imagine a better place for her every need to be met. Since my young family and I live in Northern California, I didn’t have the ability to pop in on Mom regularly. I was so appreciative that Joanne and her team always kept me informed of Mom’s notable changes as her “Parkinson’s-adjacent” disease progressed to its advanced stages; keeping me informed of what they were doing to make sure she stayed safe and properly cared for. While I was with mom in her final weeks, I was even more assured that Amber House was a gift to our family, especially Mom. Everyone there has become an important part of our family, and we are forever grateful for their love and care for Mom. If you are looking for a place for your loved one to not only be cared for, but respected and celebrated for the exceptional human being they’ve been their WHOLE life, Amber House is the place for you. They see and honor your loved one for all that they’ve been in this life, before they’ve needed extra help in their final years. Their achievements will be shared, their stories will be told, their favorite foods will be made, their birthdays will be planned according to their wishes, their favorite games will be stocked. Your loved ones will live in Amber House with dignity and respect, and they will thrive. You can trust the staff to keep your loved one as active as possible, stimulate them with fun and unique activities, provide exercise classes, take them safely on field trips with their 8-person, seat-belted golf cart, (they took mom and the gang to the Living Desert where they got to feed the giraffes), provide live entertainment on the outdoor patio, celebrate the holidays with festive decorations and activities, the list goes on and on. This place is like no other. If you’ve gotten this far, you’ve probably already put your deposit down. Good for you…you’ve made the right choice! From the bottom of my heart and soul, I extend my most sincere thanks and gratitude to everyone at Amber House! This is certainly not goodbye.
