About Mississippi HomeCare of Flowood

Mississippi HomeCare of Flowood provides home health, hospice, and independent living services in Flowood, Mississippi. The community serves patients requiring medical care coordination and support in their own homes.

Family experiences with the organization vary significantly. Some families praise individual clinicians—particularly physical therapists and nursing staff—for professionalism, knowledge, and compassion in patient care. One family noted that nurses "checked on me while I was in the hospital and are ready to step in as soon as I get back home." However, multiple families report serious concerns: missed appointments without notice, medication management errors in pill organization, poor communication between office and clinical staff, and unresolved service denials. One family described being told a clinician could not wait during a scheduled visit due to other obligations, and another reported being denied services for a needed medical port access without clear explanation or follow-up.

The community holds a 3.7 out of 5 Google rating across 9 reviews, reflecting this divided feedback. Families considering this provider should carefully evaluate their specific clinical needs and seek clear commitments around appointment reliability and care coordination.

Poor communication with staff and the office. I also found mistakes when the nurse filled my pill tray. I would not recommend them to any family or friends. This company also broke HIPA laws by by passing on 2nd party info directly to doctor.

The nurses here are fantastic. They are very professional but caring. Both nurses checked on me while I was in the hospital and are ready to step in as soon as I get back home. If you are wondering if this home care facility is right for you, don't worry. They are awesome! -Allison R. Benton

I would highly recommend MS Home Health. We had the pleasure of having Courtney as our physical therapist. We found her to be 1. Very professional 2. Very knowledgeable about how to care for a hip replacement. 3. Very thorough 4. Great listener 5. Compassionate 6. Great bedside manners 7. Learns from others and shared the ideas from her other patients. 8. Shares those tricks of the trades. 9. Knew exactly what to order for our sessions. In closing she loves her job and the people she works with which ultimately means she’s definitely a team player. Thank you Courtney in your 2 weeks of therapy and getting us ready to go to outpatient physical therapy next week.

Denied me access to their services today for chemoport access for twice daily infusions of antibiotics. Told my physician I was non-compliant and they refused to take me as a patient again. I called and was told I needed to speak with Tommy. He said the decision was made by his bosses. Said he would find out why & call me back. But , I never heard anything. I have a port in my chest for easy access for IV meds. Previously, They would not use the port, but instead gave me daily injections of Rocephin, which is thick & painful. Another time, the amount to be injected was so large it took 2 syringes & 2 injections. I complained and got it changed to IV. Unless, they considered that as non-compliant, I don’t know what they were referring to. As an RN myself, I consider a nurse to be an advocate for what’s best for the patient. That was not the service I received today.

Most uncaring medical staff I have ever dealt with. Does not show up when they say the are coming, and I don’t mean not just not being on time, not showing up at all. I had one tell me she would be there in 5 min and I told her it would take me just a min to get there, I was there in 7 min. She was not there. Called the office and they said she did not have time to wait, she had to pick her child up. Well how was she going to have time to start a drip then if she did not have a min for me to get there. (She never came I have cameras) Took over a week to get a drip and then we ended up in the hospital because of it. When I talked to Lauren who is over this office I asked her to come draw the blood so we could get results in a timely manner. She told me she couldn’t because she had an office to run. Someone finally came that afternoon so it was the next day that we got results. I would not recommend them at all!!! When I complained to Lauren about the nurse saying she would be there in 5 min and did not come. She told me she backed her nurses and if I was nog happy with them, I could go to another agency. Zero customer care.
