About Mill Pond Health Campus

Mill Pond Health Campus is a skilled nursing and long-term care facility in Greencastle, Indiana, licensed for 68 residents. The campus includes a Memory Care unit called Legacy Lane, designed for residents with dementia and other specialized needs.

Families consistently praise the attentiveness and compassion of staff, with particular recognition for named caregivers who build relationships over time and adapt care plans to individual preferences. One family wrote that staff "understood mom's needs, her routine, what she loved." Residents benefit from organized activities including monthly brunches, Friday game hours, and weekly social events. The facility is described as clean and welcoming, with family-style meals served on regular dishware rather than plastic, and rooms that feel residential rather than institutional. Communication with families about resident care and updates is noted as prompt and thorough, even during end-of-life situations.

However, the rating reflects significant variation in experiences. While most reviewers report consistent, compassionate care and well-maintained facilities, a small number of families report serious concerns including inadequate call-light response times, staffing shortages, and in one case, allegations of care lapses during a brief stay. These contradictions suggest experience quality may depend on unit placement or timing.

Mill Pond holds a 4.2/5 Google rating based on 43 reviews, with the majority five-star ratings balanced against isolated one-star accounts citing significant care and safety concerns.

My mom died within 2 weeks entry to here, they was cited by indiana for not utilizing my mom's machines she needed to live and life's journey hospice overdosed her here as well this place stinks and is the worse facility I ever seen. I went against where I wanted mom at owen valley, which take a tour for yourself and inhale and look around ,her family insisted this milpond was top notch they all live close to there said mom would have more visitors, before ever listening to family go with your gut on your parents nursing home and hospice when the time comes or the consequences will haunt you forever... rest in peace Katherine Helen Atkins I'm so sorry mom

We moved my mother here from another facility and are very pleased with the care and food as well as activities. Most importantly, we have noticed that Mill Pond has long term staff members in many important positions which makes for a pleasant home-like atmosphere.

Staff is very friendly and helpful! When I walk in I am always greeted with a smile from everyone working. Any questions or concerns I may have they are prompt with finding answers and getting things taken care of. My mom’s room is always clean and the food is top notch. Their social events seem well organized and the residents always look forward to them. My biggest statement to all of my friends and family is that I never have to worry about the care my mom is getting because I know she is getting the best!
