The staff and nurses at the Medway Country Manor were wonderful in my mother’s final weeks of life. They were very kind to her and to us. The facility itself could use a facelift, but it was very clean and the room we got was pleasant with a nice big window. I would recommend this facility.

My mother had the misfortune of spending five weeks on the 2nd floor at Medway Manor for short term rehab. The PT team was wonderful and I give them five stars. The rest of her time there was so bad that I literally felt the need to check in on her every day. I had to become a project manager to manage her care at this place because of the apathy I encountered almost every time I attempted to advocate for her. -Within the first few days of her stay,, I was shocked to find that the entire upper right side of her face was covered in a wicked bruise. Her right eye was swollen half shut. She had fallen and been sent to the ER overnight, and nobody had told me, her healthcare proxy! When I questioned Candace, who I believe is the floor supervisor, she didn’t seem terribly concerned, and she directed me to a nurse who was in the hallway. When I asked “shouldn’t you be the one talking to him?” she said something to the effect of “It will make more of an impression on him if you speak with him.” When I spoke with the nurse he was vague, and I’m pretty sure he was using a language barrier to pretend he didn’t understand what I was saying. He pointed to something on the computer screen with my mother’s profile that said “self,” which apparently means that she is her own person and can speak for herself, which was clearly not the case. Who entered that erroneous information? Was that actually the reason she was sent solo to the ER? Who knows because I probably would have had to hire a detective to actually find out. -My mother’s privacy curtain was malfunctioning from day one. At one point it was completely gone, but it took several days to replace it. And when it fell down again, there was another delay in repairing it. -My mother arrived from the ER on a Friday. Even though her personal clothing also arrived that day, she was in a dirty johnny until Wednesday, despite her family inquiring where her clothes were. -Shortly after my mother arrived, she got a new roommate who appeared to be there for psychiatric reasons. I truly sympathize and I understand that it’s hard to find placement for people with this challenge, but this woman would stare at my mother in a somewhat menacing way, and she would steal from her on a regular basis. She would walk right past my wheelchair-bound mother and take her things, including wearing one of her sweaters and using her hand cream. My mother was afraid of her. The staff acknowledged that she really shouldn’t be there, but they offered no solutions. After repeated requests for help with this matter, my mother was finally moved to another room for the last week of her stay. -Shortly before my mother’s stay, her doctor had prescribed a dental paste because she had a painful inflamed area in her mouth. It didn’t arrive at M Manor along with her other meds, and when Candace asked if I could go back to the assisted living to get it, I said yes, and brought it back that day. During her 5 weeks stay, I estimate that somebody applied this treatment perhaps 5 times. If I was with my mother when her meds were being given, the dental paste was never included. Whoever was administering meds would have to go searching for the tube of dental paste and I would have to tell them how to administer it. Over and over again….it became a ridiculous quest to have one simple thing done. -Overall, The place was depressing, and apathy permeated almost every staff member. You get off the elevator, walk in and nobody looks up. There were a few small exceptions here and there, including the Activities director and one male nurse, who I only saw once when my mother was moved to the other side of the floor. He went looking for the dental paste and confirmed that it had not been brought over to the other side. He was the only staff member who actually cared and did something about it. I could not wait to get my mother out of there. If my mother ever needs short or long-term care again, I will drive right past this place, which is only a couple of miles from my home, and find somewhere else.

My grandmother was recently at Medway Country Manor after falling multiple times at home. I was so impressed with the care, all the aides care so much. I never had to worry about her while she was there and her rehab was incredible! Samantha the social worker, Kate in rehab, and Candace the second floor nurse were all so helpful about getting my grandmother home and making sure she had services in place. I can’t say enough good things about the staff, the care, and the rehab!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Medway Country Manor Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation. My dad was there for physical therapy from March 1st through March 21st, and the care he received was truly exceptional. The nursing staff was absolutely amazing—kind, attentive, and genuinely invested in his well-being. They consistently went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable, safe, and supported throughout his stay. The rehab team was equally outstanding. They were knowledgeable, encouraging, and played a huge role in his progress. Thanks to their dedication, my dad made great strides in his recovery. From start to finish, every staff member we encountered showed compassion and professionalism. It’s clear that this facility truly cares about their patients and families. We are incredibly grateful for the care my dad received and would highly recommend Medway Country Manor to anyone in need of rehabilitation services. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A wonderful facility with a dedicated team. The staff go above and beyond to make sure patients feel comfortable and motivated. My family member had a very positive experience here and is now back home and doing well. Thank you to the entire team for your hard work and kindness!
