Facility allowed mom to sit in urine half the day. When I arrived she was in a wheelchair instead of her walker. There was a pad that was soaked. I cleaned her up and asked for some disinfectant to clean the leather on seat. Caregiver said we don’t have any right I’m busy. I found some cleaning wipes and it still smelled like urine. I asked for a clean pad. Absolutely horror story.

Jeriann and her team went above and beyond to help our family out. They helped facilitate an admission to their rehab while we were out of the continental US, while we were trying to get our family member home. They worked tirelessly during and after hours to assist us. They are the epitome of professionalism and clearly strive for excellence. Most importantly, they are truly committed to providing the highest level of care. Thank you so much!!!

Apparently patients are NOT their first priority. Labor Day weekend and it seems 85% of their staff either didn't bother to show up or were given the time off! Sorry, that's not acceptable. Good management would have a plan to continue care for those who need the most care at least, HOWEVER that is NOT what they chose to do, Instead, it is easier to simply ignore the patient no matter their need! How do I know this? Because this is exactly what happened to my family member! Is it acceptable? ABSOLUTELY not, not for ANYONE'S family member! The patients are there because they need care. Medilodge is a care giving facility. You CANNOT allow patients to suffer due to the incompetence of, staff, ownership & management. I don't care WHO you are, this is simply the most important 'rule' of the care you give. ANY business MUST be sure they have staff available to operate. You can't run a bank, restaurant or pet store without having STAFF. This patient had to phone their spouse at 2 am and have them come help them after waiting literally for HOURS to be answered by staff. Needless to say they left via ambulance and will N O T be going back - EVER! If you love and value your family member, DO NOT bring them to Medilodge in Okemos. Save yourself the worry & trouble! There are so many other options and driving another 30 miles or minutes can save you the problems (yes that's plural), my family member suffered & yes, they allowed them to suffer. We are beyond disappointed, this will be a set back in their recovery after months of being in a hospital. Our family member was not going to be a permanent resident, but was only in their for rehab, so before anyone reading this begins assuming things, let me just say, Medilodge absolutely KNEW from the start EXACTLY what my family members needs were, how much care they would need and they AGREED to take them in and that it would be no problem. The reality was they didn't care. I'm sorry, but there is no way to describe how very wrong that is! So again, please know that if this happened to our family, it's been happening right along, and that it will continue. Please don't let it happen to your family next. Going to also mention, that they have had ample time, holiday or no holiday, to reach out to the family and that apparently hasn't mattered either, only a "yah we didn't have enough staff". This was their reasoning. So, should they respond to this that we should have reached out to them, WE DID, THEY KNOW and IT MATTERED NOT! This place should be closed down or they seriously need a total replacement of management. This is their MISSION STATEMENT: To create and maintain a dignified environment for our Residents and Employees that fosters our dedication to “Caring about you while caring for you”. Oddly enough, they missed the mark by: not caring ABOUT them, when they failed to care FOR them! ____***Update and response: We TRIED to work with you, we did everything in our power to talk to, reason with, get things changed. Oddly, only when it's put out there for others to see do you snap to attention. WHY would I call you now? Why would anyone bother? No thanks, we're not making the same mistake twice. Maybe send the rest of the patients elsewhere, give the minimal staff you have a permanent vacation and lock the doors & throw away the keys. That's the ONLY thing I can see as a workable solution for you.

The staff are wonderful! I was treated like family, they have my utmost respect!! Even though I was stuck in my room for my full visit their PT and OT would come to my room for therapy. I would recommend MediLodge to anyone that reads this review.

Welcoming staff are awesome each time I have visited. Patient staffers and nurses are always pleasant and helpful. My aunt gets the assistance when she needs it and has fun with all the activities each day. At 100 she enjoys herself there.
