This place has the worst communication ever. I call to speak with my dad who was put here by my half sister against my will, and it’s the hardest to speak with him. Most of the time it’s challenging to get someone to answer the phone. If you call right now, 11:08pm 6-9-2026, the administrator/CEO mailbox is full. No one will answer. I’m sure this is on purpose to prevent from receiving voicemails. When I ask to be transferred to the building my dad lives, the nurses are rude. I am so upset my half sister put our dad in this place. If it’s God’s will, I’m going to move back to MI and petition the courts to get him out of there. Please send all positive prayers. And please Dobie Road staff start answering the phones to allow people to speak to their loved ones. It’s my dad birthday today and I can’t even speak with him.

This happened two years ago and I never received any update on how the situation was handled so I’m deciding to make it public. My grandma was here two years ago on hospice care and my mom was rightfully heartbroken. She didn’t want her to be in any pain at all and requested for meds to be as timely as possible. My grandma was dying as lung cancer and was on oxygen obviously, the nurse watered down her meds with way too much water and nearly caused her to aspirate. That’s not even the worse part of this tragic experience. Before the nurse left I asked for her name and she lied about her name? When we asked the next nurse on (who was genuinely amazing! I wish I could remember her name) what the nurse’s name was she told us a totally different name. That’s extremely unprofessional to LIE ABOUT YOUR NAME??? My grandma’s meds were 15 minutes past the time. My mom went to kindly remind the nurse that it was past her med time. When she went up to the desk she found that the nurse was loudly bad mouthing my mom to her coworker. When the coworker pointed to my mom standing behind the nurse badmouthing her she was obviously surprised my mom was behind her. This honestly outraged me and I immediately went on their website to tell someone. They did reach back out immediately and create a meeting with someone with the service department (who was very kind!) and the charge nurse on the floor. I had my mom come to the meeting with me since she’s the one who experienced the awful interaction. The charge nurse seemed to try to keep defending her nurse, how could you defend someone who’s loudly bad mouthing a dying patient’s mother? My mom is not an unkind person, she’s very nice and understanding. I, however, am not as understanding because she doesn’t deserve to be treated that way. I’d love an update on the situation that’s almost 3 years past due. This happened when I was 20 and I’m turning 23 next month. I decided to share this review because I don’t want someone else’s loved one to receive this treatment.

We were told by the hospital that this place was really good. The food was terrible. The nursing staff are great however they are over worked The physical therapist is a joke. To get released you have to be able to say the name correctly. They did not push him. He got maybe 10 mins of PT a day. His social worker did not advocate for him. They told us he was covered via insurance for 12 weeks. Come to find out at week 6 his insurance was ending and we were going to have to pay out of pocket. We were then forced to get him out of the facility ASAP due to cost. My recommendation is steer clear of this place. Short stays you're probably not going to deteriorate as much. If you end up here. Make sure you advocate for yourself and push them to do their job. As well as make sure you double check everything the social worker tells you because they just don't seem like they truly care.

As a nurse practitioner, who has had the opportunity to collaborate with the team at DOBIE Road, I can confidently say that this is one of the most compassionate and well run, subacute, rehab, and nursing facilities I’ve encountered. The staff constantly demonstrates Professionalism, teamwork and genuine commitment to ride high-quality care to each individual resident.
