I had a hard time even giving one star. Staff is rude, especially aids. Often heard talking rudely and offensively about other patients. The neglect is through the roof. So many ambulances picking people up while I was here in my short 2 1/2 weeks. Talking to the upper staff doesn’t prove any results or changes. Call lights stay on way too long. Understaffed and under qualified. Never Rand blood or urine as ordered. When came to do it, nurse was forced to make the decision of most crucial need as they only had two needles, they also had no cotton balls or surgical tape. Pretty standard stuff for medical facility. Cutting corners much in ordering supplies and quality of staff? Where’s my money, or rather the states money going? Who’s stealing? Is it time for major overhaul…. Yep. Audit? Yep. People are wheeled down ( my dementia suffering roommate) all day to sit in their own urine and poop. Safe? Nope and can’t be comfortable. I saw diaper changes at 6 and at bedtime (oftentimes not until well after 9 or 10) it’s a sad case of neglect and government money misuse because how do you not change a dirty soiled diaper. Majority of staff with exception of like 2 aids two nurses and the therapy team were rude and nasty, couldn’t perform basic duties of their jobs and made you feel like you were wrong g for asking anything at all or for anything at all. They gaslight you like you don’t know your own body and situations. I am 100% competent and more educated than the type patients they are used to. They aren’t used to someone speaking up for themselves or even having the mind capacity to know the difference. Neglect is a form of abuse. The time I could have spent healing and resting was spent advocating for myself and others that couldn’t. Meds were rarely right and I myself would have to tell them how my meds were ordered and show them a printout and they still couldn’t comprehend. My pills were mixed up as nurse was trying to pass 3 peoples at once but she got all mixed up. One patient’s pills were found piled up in her drawer. They are required by law to pass one person at a time and watch them be swallowed. I could go on and on. My point is, these things are dangerous and could kill aomeone who wasn’t able to know better or speak up for themselves. I can only imagine what I didn’t witness. No one deserves this kind of misery and if you can help it actually Just don’t bring loved ones here. Of all medical facilities I’ve been in, this was by far the very worst. I have ptsd from this experience and will probably never trust medical staff again, anywhere. What a poor poor excuse of a “care taking” facility. Good riddance medilodge of Livonia I will never return here, nor will anyone I care for. This experience scarred me permanently. I will also continue advocating for those stuck here. I won’t be quiet. What a disgusting misuse of our tax dollars. Do better auditors! I’m serious. Goodbye…gotta give a quick shoutout to Sabrina and Elisha( nurses) Otis and Tiffany and the dude that’s been beehere 30 yrs, I forget his name rn.. only nurses I could trust to care for me and couls trust with my care… safely. You guys almost single handedly run this place but that’s only 5 people that can’t be here 24-7. I absolutely didn’t trust any nurses with giving me right meds, on schedule every single time oftentimes I wasn’t their patient and they would have to be the brains for everyone else here ( all other nurses and aids) Thank you! Sorry, that’s the itty bitty bit of appreciation I feel right now. Thanks ps I highly recommend random drug testing bc some were out of their minds. One even reeked of alcohol. Another of weed, and one was so Wiley eyes, it had to be pills ( that’s coming from someone who once suffered from alcohol and pill addiction years ago) Otis, your kindness, compassion and bedside manner are unmatched and I wish you the best best on your journey to becoming a nurse. You have the heart for it for sure. The therapy team and Portia (social worker) were also amazing

My Uncle received extraordinary care at Medilodge of Livonia. The facility is clean and the staff shows they care about their patients. Nurse Keely Thomas was top tier. Keely showed compassion, was very knowledgeable and always ready to assist with any questions or concerns.

Medilodge of Livonia is a well managed facility with a progress therapy departmrnt. My uncle was a patient for four weeks in which he was admitted with respiratory concerns. By the time for discharge he was walking and no longer required oxygen therapy. He went from having a very unsteady gate two person assist to walking independently with a walker within four weeks with no set backs or infections. I would recommend this facility for any love one that needs a skilled facility for respiratory, orthopedic, and/or speech therapy. Medilodge of Livonia will get the job done.

My first impression of the building is that it is a very, very clean building. They have an excellent therapy department and amazing social workers. It is a plus that they offer van transportation to and from doctors appointments. Their driver is very professional. Their doctors is very knowledgeable about their patient's and they can be reached 24 hours a day seven days a week.

This is the worse place i have ever seen in the history of hospitals and recovery homes. The only person that was nice and professional was the person at the front desk. My mother should have neverbeen sent here. She just had blood clots on her lungs removed and they didnt think it was important to let my sister her power of attorney for medical kniw they had 5 cases of covid going around. Nor did they think it was important to change gloves or wash their hands when handling my mother. She ended up catching covid. She was non symptomatic but its not the point. In additiin to this my mom had surgery for a bad bed sore that they cut out a big chunk of skin. They didnt check to make sire it was heaking properly or make sure it wasnt infected. They didnt give the proper info to the group home shes at now. She was left in her wheelchair without coushion for 3 + hours a day causeing severe pain. Do not send your loved ones here. They ignore their patients. I complained about her not getting her shots for covid and flu and was screamed at by the nurse and laughed at by another one. My mother was constantly complaining about mistreatment and about other patients being treated poorly as well. There was one day a man was locked in the bathroom while i was there for over an hour pounding on door for assistance and they completely ignored it. They are definitely in this for the money and not the patient. The best thing that happened is my mom got kicked out of this place. Due to misco.munication from the other two hospitals she was at. This place was filthy as well.
