This is one of the greatest facilities I have ever been too. The staff is so down to earth and personal, they know how to make you feel like home. I would recommend this place to anyone and have my family stay here.

I am currently here for physical therapy and recovery from surgery. The staff makes this place amazing. From physical therapy althecway to management. If I so much as stub my toe I'm coming here. Thank you medilodge thank you!

Medilodge of Lansing is a hidden gem on the west side of Lansing. The staff is genuinely empathetic and especially the long term residents are treated like family. The team at Lansing has been together a long time, very knowledgeable and truly advocate for their residents.

I have a loved one that was admitted here into rehab, upon visiting the facility I’m not sure how this nursing home passed any inspections. There were several violations and hazards I was instantly able to identify. The facility itself is ran down, the staff does not sanitize the dining area for patients nor the rooms. Several times I saw one of the head staff members rubbing her nose with her bare hands and then touching on patients and other areas of the facility. I saw only 1 nurse actually wear gloves while there and hardly anyone ever used hand sanitizer they just kept touching things and talking over the patients food etc. hand sanitizer should be placed at the front desk since there are visitors who have to come in and sign the guest book touching on the pens and same book by several people is unsanitary. on top of that There is a receptionist by the name of carine who was extremely rude It was very hurtful how I was talked to on the phone. I do not feel my family member is in a safe compassionate space getting the proper care they need during this difficult time. Unfortunately I don’t live in town so the only way for me to get updates on certain things is by the phone, please whoever the coordinator is of this place teach your staff empathy and teach them to be kind to family members calling in genuinely concerned about their loved ones in the hands of this facility. It’s really overwhelming just knowing your loved one has to be in a nursing home as it is, and to also have to deal with rude staff members is not ok and super unprofessional. I’m disgusted with this facility and more hurt my loved one is left here dealing with who knows what behind closed doors. I appreciate anyone there that is doing their job correctly but while visiting I saw a lot of careless behavior , nurses on their phones, staff irritated with questions being asked. It’s also an understaffed facility which made it hard to find anyone at times to come and assist with certain things, Just overall didn’t give me good vibes at all. Also the janitor lady who works there does not seem friendly. Overall I hope my next encounter is not like this again.

THIS PLACE SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS - IT SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN! These are the things I personally observed while visiting my mom in November 2023: She had a wheelchair with wheels that didn’t lock; I asked that she get a new one on 11/7, still didn’t have one that locks on 11/9 or 11/12 Ziplock bags were being used as ice packs and were leaking all over Gown on floor on 11/7, apparently the floors were cleaned but the gown was not picked up, it was still there on 11/9 Bed linens partially changed on Friday 11/10 - that was the 1st time since she was admitted on 11/1 Finally offered a shower on 11/10 after she was given the okay to shower on 11/8 Lab results not being shared with us after asking numerous times (4-5 times) Increased dosage on thyroid medication without consulting with her PCP - was just told that her TSH was “wonky” She was hoisted into a sling to get her weight regardless of the fact she had shattered her femur and was only 4 days out from MAJOR surgery to repair it - putting someone with that type of injury into a sling is idiotic since your body is being crunched together and the leg that was supposed to be held completely straight and immobile is being bent like you’re sitting in a chair With her leg needing to be completely straight and immobile at all times, while she was in a wheelchair her leg needed to be supported, which means her leg was the first thing out - numerous times as she was being pushed out of her room by an employee her foot/leg was being banged into the door jam The HVAC system was not working, it was stifling hot on 11/12 with no way to cool down other than a small wall fan that was too far away to even blow on her PLUS THE WINDOWS WERE SCREWED SHUT She was told there were cameras in all the rooms Her pills were crushed and put into her food - she had ZERO issues taking pills, plus she was being given extra pills when they did evening rounds (she didn’t take those ones, especially when no one was able to tell her what it was) One resident was sleeping on a mattress ON THE FLOOR because she was a fall risk - I didn’t take a picture because of privacy issues Stood at front desk where 2 employees completely ignored me Residents can smoke at this facility…they were stealing each others cigarettes and arguing with one another I watched in shock as a female employee was speaking to 2 residents very loudly and shoving food into 1 residents mouth, making her gag I don’t know if this place only uses Patriot for their transportation, but she had a 9:30am appointment with her orthopedic surgeon, she wasn’t picked up until 9:30am, then had to wait 3 hours to be picked up All around, this is a horrible, disgusting place.
