Mayslake Village Retirement

Mayslake Village is an affordable retirement community for adults aged 62 and over located in Oak Brook, Illinois, operated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The community serves eligible residents in DuPage County and emphasizes independent living with support services available to help residents remain active and engaged in their community.

The community offers a Wellness Center staffed with registered nurses and medical specialty physicians who provide care and guidance to enhance residents' quality of life. Additionally, Mayslake Village operates a Spread the Health program, funded through donations, which provides dental, hearing, and vision services not covered by insurance. The Dining Room prepares homemade, healthy meals Monday through Friday for residents.

Life enrichment and social engagement are central to Mayslake Village's mission. The Life Enrichment department organizes activities including parties, crafts, concerts, yoga, exercise classes, educational clinics, support groups, trips to entertainment events, and monthly birthday parties with live entertainment. The Senior Center coordinates opportunities for residents to socialize and participate in activities designed to keep them mentally and physically active.

Spiritual life is supported through Our Lady's Chapel, which is open 24 hours daily and offers regularly scheduled services, daily Mass except Mondays, communal Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick, Bible study led by residents, and chaplain consultations by appointment. Video feeds of chapel services are streamed to individual apartments.

The community's waitlist opens one to two times per year, with wait times varying by building. The longest wait times occur for subsidized housing units, which may extend to two years. Mayslake Village operates through partnerships with HUD and support from donors to provide residents financial stability and affordable housing.
