My sister-in-law was a resident at Mayfair Manor on two occasions this year. She received therapy and all other services offered at the facility. Her brother and I were pleased with all services, but, most importantly, we loved the staff. The staff are kind and considerate and made my sister-in -law feel special. The staff interacted with her in such a loving manner at a very difficult period in her life. We visited every day for most of the day and they provided comfortable accommodations for us. Thank you, Mayfair.

The nurses, CNAs, and administrative staff treat the residents with patience and compassion. The facility is always clean, and the staff is highly responsive whenever we have questions. The administrator truly cares for the residents and families love her!

If I could give zero stars I would. I have never experienced a company more unethical, more disloyal to its staff and residents and more self serving than Mayfair Manor. The administration is incredibly dismissive and unhelpful when you try to voice grievances. The facility is chronically understaffed, meaning the hardworking aides are stretched far too thin, leading to neglect and incredibly delayed care. Despite the high costs, the medical oversight and response times are completely unacceptable.Do not be fooled by the location. I strongly urge anyone looking for a rehabilitation center or long-term care facility to look elsewhere in Lexington.

SNF and rehab placement post-hospitalization for my dad with Parkinson’s, dementia and heart failure… I went out of my way at the beginning of our placement to tour the facility, meet the staff, make his room as cozy as possible, and be present as much as I could. My first impressions were that it was clean, well laid out, and the staff was exceptional at engaging my family when we arrived. At the same time we came in, they had a gospel choir from a local church singing in the common room and it was wonderfully comforting. Chauncey Mason Burchfield (weekend/night admin) was exceptional in making us feel at home. We were stressed and exhausted from caring for my dad at the hospital and arriving at this new facility full of unknowns, but it felt like we had just come to our favorite auntie’s house - she is that good. Nicole, Mia and Keyatta were the first nursing staff assigned to him and they helped him laugh and settle in, while helping us to feel confident they had his correct med list and were up to speed on what his care needs would be. Carmela and Elizabeth worked through the week and quickly became really special parts of the care team. Tyler, the nurse practitioner, was exceptional at listening to our needs and adjusting medication and care to help meet our goals… Dad sleeping through the night! Chanel, the night nurse was skilled, professional, and engaging. It was always a comfort to see her big smile coming through the door. The physical therapy staff started rehab with dad his first full day there… A Sunday! Justin and Heather met with us and set expectations to be aggressive with rehab and achieve our goals. Abbey, the speech therapist is also great… Worked with dad compassionately and thoroughly to help re-orient him and treated him with dignity and respect even in the face of hospital delirium on top of dementia. Cary and Tyshawn (?) from facilities, met us at the door and explained they were still finishing the arrangements for his room, including applying new paint to some cupboards to make it extra fresh. They also volunteered to bring in dad‘s recliner from my van, set it up and make sure it was working properly. They were present every day, attending to every one of our little needs… We didn’t understand the thermostat, the en suite toilet was running, the chair needed an adjustment… all easy quick fixes with their timely attention. Let me be clear: everything was not perfect and roses. It’s a nursing home - there will be smells from people who are there and can’t care for their own bodily needs. Sometimes it did seem to take a while to have someone come to our room in response to a call bell. But ALL of our concerns - and I really mean all - were addressed promptly, thoroughly, and to our satisfaction. A few times and administrator came in to talk to us about issues we had thought were no big deal, but had been escalated to them due to diligence. It was truly easy to see how much they ALL cared to do the right thing and provide a good experience. The food was fine, some days were better than others…. We supplemented 😊 We just checked out today when my dad was able to come home, so this is as current a review as can be! Today when we left, we said our goodbyes and got hugs from many. Cary and Tyshawn (?) took apart the chair and carried it back out to my van. As we drove away, I was so very, very thankful in my heart for a good experience, safety for my dad and a huge hugely improved outlook for him.
