Was dropping off homemade cards for the Joy Cards Project at assistant living. Staff was very up beat and very excited to give their residents something to smile about.

Extremely disappointed in this place. Extremely expensive. Management, especially Carl the Director is always passing the buck and there are only a few staff who genuinly care. Staff turnover is excesive. The food is horrible. The heating and air condtioning in parts of the building don't work well. I expected so much better from this Masonic Village for the prices they charge these seniors. Don't be deceived by first impressions. If going into health or personal care, talk to the residences. They have the best perspective!!!! The personal care section is poorly run with no social worker and an activities assistant (IMO) who is really to young to understand what seniors need and like. There are some terrific care givers here but not enough who really seem to care. Getting appointments with the doctors on staff (dermotology, podiatry, dentist etc) is like pulling teeth to get an appointment on the schedule. Housekeeping is minimal at best. When a resident is out of the building for several days they only give you a $4.00 credit towards your overpriced monthly bill. (They say it is the 3 meal a day food allowance for not being there, try to eat 3 meals a day on $4.00) Watch your billing as they charge both personal care and health care if you are temporarary in health care. At Masonic Lafayette Hill they do the bare minimum, although MaryBeth, the Marketing Director will sell you on that fact that many, many things are included only to find out after you sign, it is not so. I write this because I have seen it and experienced it at Lafayette Hill.<br>D
