My mother is in a 24-hour care facility, and I can honestly say I feel at peace knowing she’s being treated the way she deserves.

The worst facility ever with a lazy inattentive staff!! My father had a head injury within two days of being there and no one assisted him off the floor for 15 minutes after calling the nurses. Patients roaming the halls needing help and it smell like piss throughout the whole facility. Do not send your loved ones there!!! My father has been removed.

I just have to tell you all about this little gem of the westbank, Marrero Healthcare Care Center. Let me tell you, from the moment I walked in, I felt like I was stepping into a warm hug. They greet you at the door with genuine smiles and make you feel so welcomed, like you're part of their family. The residents are always happy and smiling. This is a wonderful place full of people with the biggest hearts!

So far so good. My mom has only been there for one week. Initially, I had a lot of concerns and I was worried how my mom would adjust being there. The facility is older, but ran very professional and the employees take their job serious. I met the dietary specialist Laura, I believe is her name, and I love how she took an interest in creating a meal plan of what my mom love to eat and whether or not she had any food restrictions or food allergies. And from what I've seen and smelled the food looks delicious. My compliments to the chef! The only concern I might have and I plan to address is that my mom's surgery hand shakes and that's also her feeding hand and I'm concerned she may have missed a few meals because she wasn't able to feed herself. I know whenever I'm there I help facilitate her eating. The Case Manager Daphne has been very helpful whenever we discuss my mom and any concerns I have or that my mom brings to my attention. She will address it right away. I was able to speak to Randy who's the physical therapist and we had a great conversation. I was able to get a feel of just how my mom is doing and I inquired if it was ok if I purchase certain items to try and help facilitate in any way I can. This is a very caring facility and I appreciate everything they're doing to try and help my mom get better. She's been through a lot and I look forward to having her home.
