My grandfather lived at Maranatha Village for nearly 20 years. In April 2026, after a hospital stay, he was transferred to the skilled nursing facility on campus, where he received hospice care until he passed away on April 30.

Our family was disappointed with what we felt was the level of care he received during his final days. What happened after his passing was even more frustrating.

Just two days after he died, my 88-year-old grandmother received a bill for approximately $3,400. From everything I have been able to determine, the facility had not yet billed his insurance before billing her directly. Since then, I have repeatedly requested an itemized bill so the claim could be properly submitted. Despite multiple emails and phone calls, I have been unable to obtain the documentation needed.

When I finally spoke with a staff member named Jessica, instead of helping resolve the issue, I was told my grandmother had said my grandfather didn’t have insurance. That is simply not true. He did have insurance, and I was promised a follow-up email that never came.

Because Maranatha has continued to ignore my requests and has failed to resolve this issue, I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and am pursuing additional avenues to ensure this matter is properly investigated.

Losing a loved one is difficult enough without having to fight for transparency and answers. I hope no other family has to experience what ours has.

My parents joined the community in June. So far they have really enjoyed their home and all the weekly activities. Everyone working there have been very kind as they get used to their new place. In the first week they were very quick to fix a few minor issues. So far very responsive, kind, and assertive.

I visited, several times, a friend's mother who was rehabbing from a broken hip. It is very clean and all the staff are knowledable and attentive. If I were choosing a rehab for myself, this would be the one I would choose.
