My mother loved it at Maplewood
Everything was good until she got sick
There was a lot of things they did that I didn’t like before that but once she got sick, they did not care for her like they should have
During Covid at the nursing home, no one was allowed to leave their rooms during this 30 day. My mother lost the ability to swallow due to dementia. She forgot how.
She needed that interaction with people and was not getting along with the bad nurses being bad and the good nurse is being excellent
She would tell me which ones would be good to her and which ones were nasty to her I do believe Elder abuse
All of the lower plate employees treated my mom excellent three days before she died one of the higher position, nurses told me that she thought that my mom was just doing this for attention
So sad my mom was dying and no one, including the doctor that never came to visit could tell
I am thankful for the Young CNA‘s that changed my mom and loved her
I am not thankful for the people that take care of the money medicine or the doctors
It is very sad that we have to choose in life places like this for parents to go
Maplewood is about the money, not about the long-term care
The van was broken down for many of months and the patients could not even go out to doctors appointments to Walmart or any social event events
This is another reason a lot of of the people in the nursing home or passing away they need to get out they need attention and neither Love wants to come and see them
It’s sad at every nursing home. I believe this one can be good if you can go every day and monitor what they are doing. If not, they’re doing exactly what they want and ignoring your loved one thank God for my aunt that went daily to check on my mom she kept me informed from a distance away.
Thank you to the workers that do their job and love their job. There are a lot of unhappy faces working there that need to leave. Hopefully you find new people to replace them with people that can love the patients that are there and care for them.
I was also told that I was killing my mom with morphine in her last days
No one wants to hear that, but maybe it was the truth that I was trying to get her out of the pain being that she could not eat or swallow
Hospice was amazing. They came in and helped me on the last day. The doctor at the nursing home decided my mom could no longer get morphine. This made her struggle even harder I was stuck between Hospice and the nursing home that God took Home so she is in no more pain
I have waited three months to write this to give me time to not be so upset with Maplewood
