Terrible food. If you don't eat in the dining room, but eat in your room your food will usually be cold.

I have family there for Rehab, I have to say it's the worse food I've ever seen put out. If your a diabetic don't go as they give your everything with HIGH carbs. They say eggs your way but you only get scrambled no cook there knows how to poach a egg. For a sweetener they give you Pink Saccharin only. No liquid creamers only powder packets. They don't have anything that is sugar free or zero sugar. Now some of the staff are great so that's why I gave 2 stars. Shared rooms have 1 TV for both residents and both have a remote to the TV just stupid. Adding a bit more breakfast usually comes in around 9:30 to 10 am lunch comes in 2 hours later that's not enough time for insulin to do it's job so they come in before lunch and check glucose hell yeah it's gonna be HIGH breakfast should arrive between 7 and 8 am to allow the insulin to work. Oh and then if your out of the room for any reason they send you a tray of what ever they want which is usually a carb loaded meal.

I wanted to share my recent experience at The Maples, particularly as it relates to the 5-star reviews I’ve come across. My brother-in-law stayed there for rehabilitation after a lengthy hospital stay, and while there were some positive aspects, I believe it's important to provide a balanced perspective. First and foremost, I must commend the physical therapy team. They were truly exceptional, and my brother-in-law made significant progress thanks to their dedication and expertise. However, my concerns primarily lie with the nursing staff and overall care. On the first night, we encountered a nurse who admitted she had no prior experience with feeding tubes. While I understand that everyone has to start somewhere, this lack of experience raised concerns about the level of care being provided. Additionally, we faced delays in medication delivery. For instance, it took seven hours to receive necessary pain medication because of delays in ordering from Arkansas. This was distressing, especially in urgent situations. Moreover, for two weeks, he was not offered a shower, and the overall bedside manner of some staff members left much to be desired. Communication seemed lacking, as questions often had to be repeated multiple times before receiving a response. Meal delivery also fell short, with trays sometimes not arriving at all. I believe that constructive feedback is vital for improvement, and I hope this message provides some insight into our experience. While there are certainly strengths at The Maples, there are also areas that need attention to ensure that all patients receive the high standard of care they deserve.
