Pretty on the outside - negligent on the inside. My mother was in the Madison Crossing (dba Monark Grove) memory care facility from July to Nov 2023 - until we had to take her out. We had to instruct them to do simple things like: take her hearing aids out st bedtime, take her temp if you see her coughing, call the doc if she has edema, and change her sheets if she has an accident - none of these things were being done. We also found scatches on her arms which weren't being treated. I could go on. Suffice it to say, the sales pitch we received was far from the truth. Care plan instructions are not followed and hygiene and cleanliness of private rooms and bathrooms are clearly not a priority. The staff is definitely betting that memory care residents won't have frequent visitors. The filth with found in our mother's room and bathroom showed days of neglect. Staff appear to not have experience in a memory care facility. We found staff staring at their personal phones everytime we were there. The turnover among staff and managers is unbelievable. The top two mamagers both tendered their resignation the week we moved our mother out. Maybe this is just the typical standard of care for the managing Corp, Beztak. She has been in another facility for 6+ months and the difference is night and day. Observing the staff in the new facility has shown us that Monsrk Grove is not just poorly run, but likely on their way to be investigated by the state.
