Little Sisters of the Poor of Palatine is a residential community in Palatine, Illinois that provides care for elderly residents. Founded on the principles of Saint Jeanne Jugan, the community has more than 177 years of experience serving the elderly poor with loving care and respect.
The Little Sisters approach their work in the spirit of humble service, welcoming residents as they would welcome Jesus Christ himself. Their care is guided by the foundress's advice to "be kind, especially to the infirm" and to serve with love and respect. The community addresses the core concerns and needs of elderly residents: security, loving care, esteem, and the desire to feel useful.
The community operates through trust in God's Providence and the goodness of others to help provide for residents' needs. They participate in the Illinois CNA Subsidy Program, which offers hourly rate increases for caregivers. The Little Sisters also maintain several outreach initiatives including the Association Jeanne Jugan, Lend a Helping Hand program, and Volunteer and Youth Service Program.

Can't speak to how wonderful the actual Nursing home is, but I can speak to the welcoming process. I was referred to this establishment from a Palatine resident who raved about how wonderful the people are. I was looking for assistance in bringing my elderly Mother here, who is a practicing Catholic. I've applied to several non-Catholic homes, and received warmer receptions from all of them. Was also surprised at the absence of any kind of God Bless salutations at end of the email when I had included in mine. I felt brushed aside with a list of "other" homes to try. Thanks for the other homes, and very disappointed in what was relayed to me about how welcoming your organization is. I've contacted quite a few looking for help for my Mom, and really unfortunate the one Catholic organization was the least helpful. I'll pass this onto the Palatine resident who referred me, so they don't make that mistake again.
