I am looking into reporting these issues to the appropriate agencies because this level of neglect should not be ignored. I am beyond disgusted by the level of neglect and lack of basic human decency my mother has experienced at this rehabilitation facility. No patient — especially an elderly person depending on staff for care — should ever be treated this way. My mother has repeatedly been left sitting in her own feces and urine for HOURS despite staff being notified multiple times. This was not a one-time accident or an isolated incident. We spoke directly with staff and voiced serious concerns about her being ignored when she needed to be changed and cleaned. Shockingly, the EXACT SAME ISSUE happened again the very same day after we complained. At one point, she was left waiting so long for assistance that she urinated on herself FOUR separate times before anyone properly helped her. Imagine the humiliation, discomfort, and emotional distress that causes a vulnerable patient. It is degrading and inhumane. The neglect does not stop there. She has struggled to even get something as basic as water. Patients should never feel thirsty and helpless because staff cannot be bothered to respond to the call button for hours on end. To make matters worse, my mother gave a staff member $5 to buy her a soda from the vending machine that cost $2.40, and only received 40 cents back. Whether intentional or careless, taking advantage of elderly patients — even in small amounts — is unacceptable and speaks volumes about the culture of this facility. This place advertises rehabilitation and care, but what we have witnessed is neglect, indifference, lack of dignity, and complete failure to meet even the most basic standards of patient care. Families trust facilities like this to protect and care for their loved ones when they cannot be there every second. Instead, we have watched my mother be ignored, humiliated, and neglected. If you are considering placing a loved one here, think very carefully. No family should have to wonder whether their loved one is sitting in soiled clothing begging for help while staff ignore them. If they do this to someone coherent and able to speak, just imagine what happens to patients who are unable to communicate.

I was in this facility for 1 month. The PT and OT staff were very professional and understanding. I can not say that about the nursing staff. The business office demanded payment in 10 days with no answers to questions about my bill despite numerous calls only to get an answering machine or announcement that the mail box was full. There were no return phone calls as promised. I only found out from my insurance company that a claim had not even been filed. I would not recommend this facility for my loved ones.

No stars aren’t a thing so 1 star is what this place gets. My Mom is back in the hospital after a 2 month stay at Litchford Falls. A handful of staff were pleasant. Most were rude. The business office and social workers are terrible at answering phones and returning phone calls. When therapy discharged my 84 yr old Mom we kept her there on private pay while preparing to move her to assisted living. The staff left her in bed for 5 days until I had them call an ambulance to go to the hospital. She had a bed sore already, now it is unstageable she also has recurring UTI’s. The staff neglected to clean her properly which resulted in its return. Now she is back to where she started when she got there 2 months ago.

I am overwhelmed by the team effort made to protect my aunt and the other residents at Litchford over this past weekend. The planning for the icy weather was clearly meticulous and executed well. There was no staff shortage and my aunt said the food was warm and on time, she didn't even realize the weather event was that bad until we chatted today. Hats off to everyone from administrators to nursing, kitchen, and housekeeping! Thanks for keeping my family safe, healthy and happy!

I had a wonderful experience at Litchford Falls Rehab. As a 90-year-old male, I fell and broke a hip and elbow. I was warmly greeted as I arrived from the hospital and put into a delightful, bright private room. In the morning, a gathering of their top staff assembled in my room to introduce themselves and the part they will play in my recovery. My original smile that I brought with me expanded exponentially. My next introduction was with the Physical and Occupational Therapist. What a skilled and dedicated team. I told them to work me hard, and they were pleased to comply. Day by day and night by night I was pampered by the extensive staff needed for the smooth operation of a first-class, skilled nursing facility. I sang songs with the housekeeper who cleaned my room every morning and my new maintenance friends who kept everything tip-top. So many Doctors, CNAs, Nurses, Wound Care Specialists, Administrative staff of every caliber who treated me as royalty! I lost count of the hugs and kisses during my recovery. Everyone I encountered was at the top of their game. It would be wonderful to name names of the multitude of people who contributed to my speedy recovery, but whereas my 90-year-old mind is great for long-term memory, I would be devastated if I missed even one of Litchford Falls Health and Rehabilitation Center's hardworking, dedicated staff. Peace and Love.
