This is a wonderful place to recover or for assisted living; not a place where you become a living throw away. They have not only the basic required standards of care by law but high standards of medical and social care. You, the resident/patient, are treated with dignity and medical ethics first and foremost. Then you have staff who really care about the elements of the job, required and humane treatment that we all deserve. The social and interactive activity is wonderful. You may be confined while acquiring excellent health care extension but you are not in a locked away and forgotten expulsion from society and life. I witnessed and received a more serious concern for my rehabilitation by ALL levels of staff; unlike what our hospitals seem to be allowing over the past 8 - 10 years that I personally can speak to. Service seems to have transformed into paychecks primarily and then the required protocols of care by law. It's nearly criminal; the level of interaction with persons in need of respect, care and entitlement. Lisner Lucille Dickson Hurt is a whole new specie of rehabilitation care. Other such facilities need to take big notes and employ them. Let me not forget to tell you the food and treats and special events are 2 cuts above. I will only go there when I need that level of service, if there's a vacancy. Blessings and praise to that operation!🙏🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🥇👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🥂

If you're considering Lisner-Louise-Dickson-Hurt Home for a loved one, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. My family's experience here was traumatic, stressful, and far from the supportive environment we expected for recovery. This place is a disgrace to elderly care and should be held accountable for its actions.

I can't even begin to gather up all that I'd like to say about this beautiful facility! It's enough that the grounds are breathtaking, when you go inside you're given a warm greeting and it's pleasing to all of your senses. I didnt know what to expect knowing my mother-in-law was now a patient here...but guess what she isn't treated like one. She's treated like she belongs to this wonderful family of people who not embrace the work they are doing, you can tell they LOVE what they are doing and take their job to heart. That's SO important! Lisner is a HOME that makes you feel right at home! That should be their motto. (Make sure I get the credit, if used😉) I thank God for bringing this place to us, because it's not easy seeing a loved one's demeanor and life change before your eyes. We ALL know at some point we will get older and can no longer do for ourselves, but what we don't know is if we'll be cared for and given a quality of life, by loving nurses, doctors, aides, speech and physical therapists, custodians, case workers, dieticians, etc, who understand that "life matters", until God feels it's your time to go home! If you're in search for a home, rehabilitation and assisted living care, Lisner in Washington D.C.is highly recommended 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 My mother-in-law passed in 2019, but she transitioned with her dignity and respect. Most importantly, where she wanted to be. Thank you Lisner.

A fantastic facility. My dad was in the rehab facility portion and he was well taken care of. Lisa and LaToya are extremely helpful. The food was tastey and there were lots of activities. I highly recommend them to anyone that is looking for great care for their loved one.
