My sweet mom is in Village on the Green in Longwood, Fl, a property of this corporation. I’ve had nothing but potential serious liabilities from almost over vaccinations because the nurse forgot it was already administered to shoddy bath schedules vibe had to fight them to get. Several UTI’s undiagnosed too long requiring hospital stays, constantly supplies missing from her room and the worst is that if and when I have to leave town on business I have to come back to find massive mistakes and neglect. I’ve found her sitting in her own urine just to wait another 45 minutes for someone to help me change her just last week upon coming back from a business trip I had to attend. I literally have to call and text numerous times in advance to several people just to give notice when I’m coming to get her to make sure she’s clean and toileted only to find that 75% of the time she’s not. This is the last thing I found just this past week when picking her up for her birthday. Upon picking her up she had wet herself, but her pants were never changed. Fear of being late for our appointments I made for our outing I go with the aide to get her changed, pull out what was supposed to be laundered clothes out of her closet and find not only crusty clothes, but these jeans with a dried log of feces stuck in the pants. I’m absolutely mortified and after chance after chance I’ve tried when they just blow things off, refuse to follow thru, refuse to communicate with each other, refuse to text me back unless I physically call the DON, I have no choice but to get her out of there ASAP. I am an only child that sold my home, closed my extremely successful 25 yr business and moved back 5 hours away to care for my mom until I physically couldn’t anymore. I needed the help so badly and this experience with this property has made lasting scars as far as I’m concerned. I have to be there all the time to make sure she’s cared for and struggle with this when I have to leave town. I’m having to report everything to elder affairs to possibly keep someone else and their families from experiencing this absolute torment thinking their loved ones are being taken care of. There are nurses there that need to be fired and the administration needs to be investigated.
