I have a friend who is only 57 and had a major stroke who has been at Life Care one week. Jacob Strong the admissions Director has been extremely helpful and knowledgeable about insurance and HR matters, especially dealing with the insurance!! All the staff are very congenial and helpful regarding requests. The Rehabilitation staff. PT, OT, and Speech therapists are knowledgeable and hard working. They also are so supportive and positive with my friend.
Unfortunately they had a sudden outbreak of Covid and had to scramble to provide the needed care and therapies but Melissa Lawrence made it happen regardless of the stress and low staffing.
The charge nurses and Aides when above and beyond to get her a much needed shower and hair wash.
Today we had an amazing and productive Care team meeting and all are questions were answered and our priority need handled.
They are kind and caring to ALL the residents. The food is decent for this kind of facility.
I gave it 4 stars because there are some staffing/ issues and some things fall through the cracks but that is a universal health care issue.
The rooms are small especially if two clients share a room. My friend is paying out of pocket for a private room.
It is also prohibitively expensive if you do not have Medicare or insurance.
Insurance compliance is like walking a tight rope but they definitely advocate for their clients. We are a small community and are blessed to have a Rehabilitation Center of this caliber.
