My 88 year old mother with mild dementia moved into Maple Ridge somewhat reluctantly in Feb 2026 after breaking her hip, having surgery and 5 weeks of rehabilitation. Although she misses her large, beautiful home, yard and gardens, my mother told her doctor that she is very happy where she is, that she has a beautiful room with big windows and a nice view, caring staff that brings her medications and reminds her if she is close to missing meal, and staff that knocks on her door to let her know when an activity is taking place that she may be interested in. My mother was an excellent cook and has been very pleased with the quality of all the meals. All of our family has been so happy with the care our mother has received, and to see her thriving in her new “home”, it has been above and beyond our expectations! Thank you Erin Hoskins for being an exceptional Executive Director, nurse Hilde and all of the staff from the family of Kay Q!

A big thank you to Maple Ridge’s staff for taking care of someone I love. ❤️ What is also so special and comforting, is that the staff are visibly looking out for all the residents. They work hard, and they take time to give someone a smile, a pat on the shoulder, or special attention. What’s especially notable, is the patience they demonstrate even when a resident is having a rough day. The staff handles daily challenges calmly and with kindness. 🙏 Thank you.

What’s on Your checklist for a local Retirement Community for yourself or a loved one? In my case, the top qualities that I know I am looking for are: caring, kindness, compassion, attention, safety, reliability, respect, and warmth.<br><br>There are others of course, and many of those are easier to quantify.<br><br>But at the end of the day, what really matters, especially as circumstances change with age and health, are those that are harder to measure.<br><br>That’s the human factor — who works there? What’s the attitude among staff, residents, visitors, and family?<br><br>Do folks care? Is there a genuine feeling of community? Will there be good communications as circumstances warrant? Will I feel comfortable that my special loved ones thrive there in a clean, supportive environment?<br><br>It’s my feeling that Maple Ridge delivers and strives to fulfill those needs consistently in my family’s case.<br><br>I appreciate the peace of mind that Maple Ridge provides and endeavors to achieve on a daily basis.

So grateful!! I can’t thank the staff enough for their amazing care, patience, and comfort during my dad’s stay!! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed and reassured that my dad was in good hands. The staff were compassionate and kind every single day, and took very good care of my dad. The staff went above and beyond to make not only my dad comfortable, but my entire family comfortable. We formed relationships with the staff that will never be forgotten. (every time I think of pie:) ) My family and I are so grateful and truly thankful for our experience at Maple Ridge!!❤️
