Friend of mine‘s husband was brought in today and I met so many nice people in there made you feel comfortable. Michele in admissions was fabulous. The desk was fabulous. The nurses that I talked to were very nice very impressed with the facility. I like the idea that a visitor can dine with the patient and I also like the idea that a family came into town that you have a private dining room for people I was very impressed with Place. The rooms were a little small, but nice. Robin D

I would like to thank all the staff members at Life Care for the wonderful care they provide! Knowing how well my father is being cared for during his convalescence gives me such peace of mind. Every staff member I have met has been kind, caring, patient & helpful! The facility is very clean, well maintained and always a pleasure to visit! I feel that we are fortunate to have such a top notch facility in our community! Gratefully Yours, Maureen Lutrin

My mother’s stay at Life Care Center of Port Saint Lucie was extremely troubling. During her time there, I witnessed and experienced multiple issues that left me concerned for her safety and well-being. Staff spoke to her disrespectfully, including comments about her size and bowel movements. She was left in wet clothing after a shower and even bathed in an area where another resident’s feces were present. Basic hygiene was neglected, including failure to brush her teeth and improper handling of her Foley catheter. I also observed rough and unsafe handling, including a staff member dragging her stroke-affected leg while pushing her wheelchair, as well as unexplained bruises appearing on her body. On several occasions, she cried to me because no one responded to her call light until I contacted the nurses’ station myself. There were additional safety concerns: a nurse acted aggressively toward my mother’s granddaughter (resulting in a police report), she was served shrimp despite a seafood allergy, and she repeatedly received pork despite religious restrictions. A doctor even mistook her for another patient and discussed a surgery she never had. Important medical needs were ignored, such as a week-long delay in scheduling a necessary urology appointment—something I ultimately had to do myself. Repeated attempts to contact facility administration about these issues went unanswered. Overall, the lack of care, safety, and accountability we experienced was unacceptable. My mother deserved far better. the stay did not lead to any improvement on her affected side, and instead seemed to set her back. I tried to advocate for my mother throughout her stay, but I felt that the Executive Director Nicole did not take my concerns seriously. When I voiced these concerns, I was surprised to see in discharge paperwork referring to me as unprofessional and retaliatory way, when she ignored all concerns.. I also attempted to escalate the issue to corporate to file a formal complaint, but I never received any follow-up or acknowledgement, which added to my frustration as a family member trying to ensure proper care for a loved one. This was only our experience, but I hope the facility takes steps to better communicate with families and address concerns promptly and respectfully. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR FAMILY MEMEBRS HERE UNLESS YOU WILL BE THERE TO MONITOR THE TREATMENT!!!!
